Incompletes. At the end of the semester, any student whose attendance or assignments are INCOMPLETE will have the opportunity to make up the classes and assignments during the following semester at dates and times determined by the Director. The student will then receive their Student Certificate of Completion (MV-285).

Incompletes. In the rare instance that the Student is granted permission to leave the Program early for medical reasons or crises involving close family members, and they have not submitted all required academic work, Amideast will assign one of two grades for any course(s) not completed: • A grade of Withdrawal (W) if the Student leaves the Program prior to the withdrawal deadline. • A grade of Incomplete (I) if the Student leaves the Program following the withdrawal deadline, misses exams and/or assignment deadlines that occur after their departure, and has secured approval from the Amideast Education Abroad staff and Academic/Arabic Coordinator to make up the missed work (based on a clear outline of requirements and due dates as noted below). In cases where grades of Incomplete are requested and approved, Amideast will provide a written statement detailing the work that is required of the Student in order to complete the course(s). This statement will also include the date by which Amideast must receive the missing work. Amideast will assign a deadline date that is no more than one semester after the end of the course or courses in question. An Amideast grade report will also be issued at the end of the initial term that includes one or more incompletes. If the Student misses the deadline for submitting work for incomplete courses, all incompletes will automatically be converted to failing grades (F). If the Student meets the deadline, the appropriate professor(s) online will grade the assignment(s) and report the new course grade(s) to Amideast Education Abroad staff. Once all incomplete assignments are completed and assessed or the deadlines are missed, Amideast will send a new Amideast grade report to the Student’s home institution, reporting the updated grade(s)/
Incompletes. If a student has not completed the work in a normally scheduled class at the end of the term, quarter he/she may receive an incomplete. After two weeks this incomplete may become an F. If at the end of the semester a student receives an F through failing to complete the work or due to poor academic performance, they may request through the high school principal a plan of study to meet their course requirement. The principal has the right to reject a student’s request for a plan of study if he/she feels the student’s situation does not merit a plan of study. This process allows the student to complete the course requirements without having to retake the entire course. This plan will have a certain date completion time frame that is mutually agreed to by the instructor and the student. If the student completes the work successfully in the allotted time, the F will be removed and a D will be placed on the permanent record. For the safety reasons, students needing to leave the building need to contact the Superintendent or building principal prior to leaving the building. (addressed earlier) When a student is absent from school, he/she disrupted his/her continuous learning process. Upon returning to school, the student should first of all present his/her written excuse to the office indicating the reason for the absenteeism. A student will have an equal number of days to complete his/her work in relationship to the number of days absent. NOTE: A student missing school on the day of a previously announced test may be expected to take the test on the first day back. Students must not gain advantage over other students in delaying tests. NINE-WEEK Quarter TESTS, SEMESTER TESTS AND GRADES Nine-week grades will count 2/5 of the student’s semester grade. In the case of a nine-week course, the test grade will account for 1/5 of the final grade. Semester grades will be calculated as follows: each quarter will account for 2/5 of the semester grade and the semester test (project) will account for 1/5 of the grade. Semester tests are given at the end of each semester. Semester tests count 1/5 of the semester grade average. All transcript grades will be based on percentages. This test can either be given as one test at the end of the semester or two tests at the end of each nine weeks. There are many possible grade combinations that may occur. Incompletes. No incompletes will be issued at the end of the grading period; however, students with excused absences will have the opportunity to complete the work and grade changes will be made within a specific time period. Students absent from school are responsible for all work and information missed in each class. Upon return to school, it is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements with the teacher to complete all missing work as soon as possible. All incompletes must be removed before credit is earned for the course. There is no make-up period for the end of the year. All work must be complete at that time.

Incompletes. For various reasons, a student may receive an "Incomplete" or "I" on his/her report card. Usually this mark is given to a student who has been ill for a lengthy period. In such cases, the student must take responsibility to contact his/her teacher(s) to find out what measures can be taken to remove the "I" from the report card. Conferences at Mineral Ridge High School are scheduled in November and February as assigned by the annual school calendar. Parent/Teacher conferences can be used effectively to discuss any academic difficulties experienced by the student as well as any other related reasons that could be impairing the child's academic progress in school. In these cases a Student will be allowed to complete unfinished work (within an agreed upon timeline) and be re-issued a grade for the marking period. In these cases, the Student will be informed of the specific work requirements and the timeline for submitting the completed work. Skill-based Certificate‌ Students may qualify for a Certificate of National Skills Standards. A National Skills Standard Certificate signifies that the Student has demonstrated competency in all performance skill standards related to National Skill Standards, licensing and/or certification requirements. This includes the successful completion of any national industry-based evaluations.
