Attendance Policy Sample Clauses

Attendance Policy. Existing policy requires that an employee notify management in advance of the scheduled shift start when said employee is absent from work. This policy also requires an employee to notify management in advance of the scheduled start of the work shift when this employee will be late in reporting to work. Generally, these provisions are most relevant to unscheduled absences. There are two situations which occur relative to tardiness. The first, involves an employee who has not called in before the start of the work shift as is required by existing policy. The second applies to an employee who calls in before the start of his or her work shift: Section 1. Employee Fails to Call in Before Start of Work Shift: An employee who is tardy and has not called in before the start of his or her scheduled work shift will be considered to be in an unauthorized leave status. The first occurrence of this type tardiness will result in the employee receiving a verbal reprimand and being docked pay as below. A second occurrence within a twelve (12) month period will result in the employee not being permitted to go to work thereby forfeiting eight hours pay, and also, it will result in the employee receiving a written reprimand from the Supervisor. A third occurrence within a twelve (12) month period will result in an automatic three- day suspension without pay. A fourth occurrence within the twelve (12) month period will result in the scheduling of a pre-disciplinary conference with the employee being recommended for dismissal from service with the City of Xxxxxxxx. Section 2. Employee Calls in Before Start of Work Shift as required When an employee is tardy and has notified management in advance of the start of the scheduled work shift, a different set of circumstances will initially occur. The first occurrence of such tardiness will be considered to be an excused absence; however, the employee will be docked an appropriate amount of pay in accordance with the length of time he or she is tardy. If the crew is still at the garage, the employee will be docked for lost time in increments as follows: Period Late Time Docked 16 - 30 minutes ½ hour 30 - 60 minutes 1 hour In the event the crew has left for the job site and the employee must be transported by a Supervisor to the site, the employee’s time for pay purposes will be started when he or she reaches the job site. Again, the amount of pay which will be docked will be figured in time increments as above. In the event an em...

Attendance Policy. In order to maximize learning opportunities, attendance is expected at all college and clinical sessions. Campus laboratory classes are usually demonstrations of essential nursing skills. There is no effective way to “make-up” missed laboratory classes, therefore the instructor may require attendance. For all clinical absences, the student must call the clinical setting a minimum of 30 minutes before the scheduled beginning time of the clinical session that will be missed and leave a message for the appropriate instructor. Any exception to this rule will be noted in writing in the individual course syllabus and green sheet. Students who miss more than 10% of the clinical days in a course may not be able to meet course objectives. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the appropriate instructor to determine “make- up” assignments for all absences. If a student has excess absences as defined in a particular course, the student’s status may be reviewed by the nursing faculty. The student may not be able to satisfactorily meet course objectives and may earn a failing grade.

Attendance Policy. Academic credit for a course requires regular class attendance. Class attendance means being present in the classroom for the entire scheduled class meeting. The physical presence of a student is crucial in any class meeting regardless of whether or not the student assignments are completed. The maximum absence allowance is three (3) class sessions in a semester. Once a student reaches the limit of missed classes, the instructor is required to report the student's absence status to the Office of Academic Affairs for further evaluation, which may result in academic discipline proceedings or negatively affect the student's grades. Class attendance is of particular importance to international students, who must be able to prove that they are enrolled and attending classes on a full-time basis in order to maintain their visa statuses. As noted above, instructors are required to report excessive tardiness or absences to the Director of Academic Affairs, who will notify students that they are jeopardizing their visa statuses. Failure of an international student to maintain the required class attendance will be reported to the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), which may revoke the student's visa status. All faculty members are required to maintain accurate attendance records and to begin each class on time. In the event of an absence for any reason, the student is responsible for any information or class content missed. If it becomes necessary for a student to miss a class for any reason, the student must contact the instructor to make arrangements to complete any missed assignments. In some cases, additional work may be required to make up for an absence. If not made up, missed assignments or classwork may result in a lower grade or even a failing grade for the course. Makeup of homework, quizzes, or in-class assignments is at the discretion of the Individual instructor. All Xxxxxxxxx University students enrolled in theological degree programs (full- or part- time) are required to attend weekly chapel services during the semester. Failure to attend or to report attendance is considered to be a violation of the chapel attendance policy. ...
Attendance Policy. Punctual and regular class attendance is expected of all students. Any class session missed, regardless of cause, reduces the opportunity for learning and often adversely affects the grade a student achieves in a course. Dual Enrollment students are subject to all state and public school rules and regulations regarding attendance. There is a general attendance policy available in the SCF Catalog; however, each instructor will need to communicate a specific attendance policy that notes consequences (deduction of points for late arrival, early departure, or complete absence.) Please note that after 3 hours (or what is specified on syllabus), students may be asked to withdraw. The key is to be as specific as possible without completely taking away instructor flexibility.
