Influenza Vaccinations. The parties agree that influenza vaccinations may be beneficial for patients and hospital employees. Upon a recommendation pertaining to a facility or a specifically designated area(s) thereof from the Medical Officer of Health or in compliance with applicable provincial legislation, the following rules will apply:
(a) Employees shall, subject to the following, be required to be vaccinated for influenza.
(b) If the full cost of such medication is not covered by some other source, the Hospital will pay the full or incremental cost for the vaccine.
(c) If an employee refuses to take the vaccine required under this provision, she or he may be placed on an unpaid leave of absence during any influenza outbreak in the hospital until such time as the employee is cleared to return to work. If an employee is placed on unpaid leave, she or he can use banked lieu time or vacation credits in order to keep her or his pay whole.
(d) If an employee refuses to take the vaccine because it is medically contraindicated, and where a medical certificate is provided to this effect, she or he will be reassigned during the outbreak period, unless reassignment is not possible, in which case the employee will be paid. It is further agreed that any such reassignment will not adversely impact the scheduled hours of other employees.
(e) Notwithstanding the above, the Hospital may offer the vaccine on a voluntary basis to employees free of charge.
(f) This clause shall be interpreted in a manner consistent with the Ontario Human Rights Code.

In addition, employees will be provided with information, including risks and side effects, regarding the vaccine.
3. The Hospital recognises that employees have the right to refuse any required vaccination.
4. If an employee refuses to take the vaccine required under this provision, she or he may be placed on an unpaid leave of absence during any influenza outbreak in the Hospital until such time as the employee is cleared to return to work. If an employee is placed on unpaid leave, she or he can use banked lieu time or vacation credits in order to keep her or his pay whole.
5. If an employee refuses to take the vaccine because it is medically contra-indicated, and where a medical certificate is provided to this effect, she or he will be reassigned during the outbreak period, unless reassignment is not possible, in which case the employee will be paid. 6. If an employee gets sick as a result of the vaccination, and applies for WSIB, the Hospital will not oppose the claim.

Influenza Vaccinations. 54.1 The Managing Director will provide access to influenza vaccinations on an annual basis, at AgriFutures’ expense, to employees wishing to participate. Where the vaccination is not provided at the workplace, employees may make private arrangements to be vaccinated. Reimbursement will be provided but limited to the cost of the influenza vaccine.
Influenza Vaccinations. 31.01 The Hospital and the Union encourage employees to take every reasonable precaution to protect themselves and the patients from influenza. Where the Hospital and Medical Officer of Health believe that employees and patients are at risk, the Hospital has the right to invoke its policy on Influenza Vaccinations.
Influenza Vaccinations. The Secretary will provide access to influenza vaccinations on an annual basis, at the department’s expense, to employees wishing to participate. Where the vaccination is not provided at the workplace, employees may make private arrangements to be vaccinated. Reimbursement will be provided but limited to the cost of the influenza vaccine.
Influenza Vaccinations. Upon a recommendation from the Medical Officer of Health or in compliance with Provincial Legislation, the Influenza Vaccination Policy shall apply to all employees. A copy of this policy shall be made available to all employees.
Influenza Vaccinations. When ordered by the Medical Officer of Health, Influenza Vaccinations will be required for all Employees covered by this Collective Agreement, unless contraindicated, at no cost to the Employees
Influenza Vaccinations. As a patient safety initiative, influenza vaccinations are a condition of employment for all Medical Center employees, regardless of job function, including clinical and nonclinical staff, contracted clinical personnel, and volunteers. All employees will be required to obtain the influenza vaccine unless they have an approved medical exemption. If they have an approved medical exemption, they will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the influenza season (October – April) when in contact with any patients. When there are medical and/or physiological reasons why an employee cannot wear a mask, the Medical Center will consider these circumstances on an individual basis. Thus, the Medical Center will reasonably accommodate employees who are unable to wear a mask due to such medical and/or physiological reasons.
Influenza Vaccinations. Where an employee elects to protect themselves against influenza, the employer will reimburse the out of pocket expense once each 12 month period. Employees must provide proof of expense.
Influenza Vaccinations. The Board of Education shall provide influenza vaccinations to teachers at no cost. This provision is subject to the availability of influenza vaccine.
