Interim teachers. In the event that a school is not able to secure a certified teacher, the Principal or designee will seek volunteer interim substitutes from his/her teaching staff. The teacher will be required to make up all planning/administrative time, which is missed due to the extra teaching period. This time may be made up at school or any other appropriate location, either before or after normal work hours and must be documented in written form. Compensation will be at the teacher‘s regular hourly rate.

Interim teachers. While it is recognized that interim teachers are not covered by this Agreement, any certified teacher who is employed as an interim teacher for more than 90 school days in a school year and is hired as a regular teacher for the following school year shall have that service credited toward advancement on the salary schedule.
Interim teachers. Will be placed on Step A (BA) during his/her employment as an Interim Teacher. In the event an Interim Teacher becomes a regular contracted teacher, time served as Interim will count toward placement on the guide. Whether or not the Board has reimbursed the tuition costs for any course shall not be a factor controlling placement on the salary guide. The terms herein above shall become effective on July 1, 1984 and shall apply to all present and future employees. Placement on the salary guide for any presently employed teachers which is approved by the Board prior to July 1, 1984, shall be honored regardless of whether or not said placement is consistent with the above conditions. The Board shall accept, in lieu of graduate credits, 100% of any undergraduate credits earned since the awarding of the B.S. or B.A., and prior to July 1, 1984. This exemption shall exist for all employees, including those on approved leaves of absence who are on staff as of June 30, 1984. The Board shall also accept, for credit toward M.S. +30 or M.S. +60, all credits attained prior to July 1, 1984, and prior to or subsequent to the awarding of the M.S. This exemption shall exist for all employees, including those on approved leaves of absence, who are on staff as of June 30, 1984. A teacher employed after February 1st of any school year will remain on the same salary step and will not receive full credit toward the next increment step for the following year.
Interim teachers. Positions which are expected to be vacant for at least forty (40) school days shall be filled by substitute teaching personnel who have met the State Certification requirements of the vacant positions. After a forty (40) school day trial period, such certificated substitute teachers shall be given the status of an interim teacher and shall thereafter be paid at the appropriate rate on the teachers' salary schedule. If a certificated teacher is unavailable, the Board shall attempt to fill such vacancy by a qualified noncertificated person.

However, for a school term to count toward the attainment of tenure, the non-tenured teacher must work at least one hundred twenty (120) full time employment days. A school term that is not counted toward attainment of tenure shall not be considered a break in service for purposes of determining whether the non- tenured teacher has been employed for the period of time necessary to attain tenure, provided that the non-tenured teacher actually teaches or is otherwise present and participating in District 34’s educational program in the following school term. The granting of maternity leave to any non-tenured teacher shall not constitute a precedent for the granting or withholding of leave to any other non-tenured teacher. Each request shall be judged on its own merits and shall be within the sole discretion of the Board. Additional conditions or restrictions may be established for any such leave, provided nothing herein shall be construed as requiring any non-tenured teacher to apply for such leave or accept the conditions established therefore.

  • Student Teachers 8.05.01.A No teacher will be required to accept the responsibility of supervising student teachers; it is believed that professionally interested teachers will volunteer to do so from time to time.

  • Consulting Teachers A. A Consulting Teacher is a permanent status unit member who provides assistance to a Participating Teacher and assists Probationary Teachers as a Support Provider as the caseload formula allows. Consulting Teachers shall possess the following qualifications:
