Traveling Teachers. Traveling teachers are those who are not assigned a dedicated classroom of their own due to limited space. If traveling is necessary within a subject area, traveling status should be rotated. In order to facilitate optimum conditions for instruction, traveling teachers should, to the greatest extent practicable, be provided the following:
1. A quiet, secure space that contains a desk and filing space;
2. Storage space within the classrooms used for instruction;
3. A designated bulletin board and/or chalk or white board in the classrooms used for instruction;
4. An appropriate cart to transfer materials;
5. Supplies needed for instruction to the same extent as other teachers and those unique to traveling teachers.
Traveling Teachers. 1. Each traveling teacher shall be given a minimum of fifteen (15) minutes to travel from one building to another. The fifteen (15) minutes shall come from the total student contact time of the traveling teacher.
2. Each traveling teacher shall be reimbursed at the IRS rate for mileage traveled going from one building to another.
3. Each traveling teacher shall only be required to attend the evening meetings of his/her home school.
4. The administration will make every effort to schedule each traveling teacher’s planning and conference time adjacent to his/her traveling time, and will make every effort to limit the amount of times per day that each traveling teacher has to travel between school buildings.
5. If a traveling teacher is going to be late to the school to which he/she is reporting due to unforeseen or hazardous circumstances (e.g., bad roads due to inclement weather, vehicle break-down, etc.), that teacher will contact the building principal/designee at the school to which he/she is reporting as soon as possible. The building principal/designee shall make arrangements to have the class of the traveling teacher covered until the traveling teacher arrives.
Traveling Teachers. 10.1 Teachers that are assigned to more than one building shall be designated as traveling teachers.
10.2 The building to which the traveling teacher is assigned for the majority of the day shall be designated as their "home" building, and the traveling teacher shall receive planning time and lunch time in accordance with contractual requirements and the building procedures of that building.
10.3 For the purposes of evaluation, the traveling teacher shall be evaluated by the administrator in their "home" building. Administrators from other buildings to which the teacher is assigned may provide written input for that evaluation, but may not formally evaluate the teacher. Such input shall be provided to the teacher.
10.4 Traveling teachers shall be provided with adequate time to go from building to building and adequate classroom space and supplies, as well as space from which to work during their planning and conference time.
10.5 Traveling teachers shall keep a log of the mileage traveled between their assigned buildings and shall submit such log at the end of each month to the Board Treasurer for payment in the next regular pay in accordance with the provisions of this agreement.
Traveling Teachers. Efforts shall be made in the arranging of teachers’ schedules to limit the amount of intra-District travel. Assignment to more than 1 building may be the result of student need and/or an effort to maximize teacher contracts. Questions concerning such intra-District assignments should be addressed to building principal(s) or the Director of Administrative Services. Mileage between schools will be paid at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rate.
Traveling Teachers. Teachers who travel on school business shall be compensated for the use of their personal vehicle on a mileage basis at the then-prevailing IRS rate. Traveling teachers shall be allowed a maximum of twenty-five (25) minutes to travel between buildings.

Traveling Teachers. The teaching schedule of teachers assigned to more than one building will be determined by the administration, subject to the provisions of this Agreement. The appropriate administrator(s) will consult with each traveling teacher in developing his/her schedule, and upon the request of an affected teacher, shall meet with him/her to reach a written agreement on expectations regarding attendance at staff meetings, exam schedules, participation in parent-teacher conferences, conference time and any other related matters deemed necessary by either party. If an agreement is not reached, the Continuing Contract Committee shall meet within two (2) weeks thereafter to resolve any area(s) of disagreement. In arriving at an agreement, the parties should consider the proportion of the teacher's time spent in each building, and required for travel between buildings. They will also consider the value of an uninterrupted conference period, and if one cannot be provided should assign the longest conference segments possible, in no case less than twenty (20) minutes in length. If the prep time is occurring at the beginning of the student day, 15 minutes would be allowed to count as prep as long as it does not conflict with other regularly assigned duties (if applicable). The intent is to provide conference time in minimum intervals of 30 minutes. On occasions when traveling teachers are unable to make their assignment, they will notify the principal involved as soon as possible. On occasions when the schedule of such a teacher is altered, the principal will notify the teacher involved as far in advance as possible.
Traveling Teachers. The Administration will endeavor to minimize the number of trips between buildings that the teacher will be required to make. A conference will be held with the traveling teacher before finalization of the schedule by the Building Principal. Sufficient time will be allowed for the teacher to travel the distance. Traveling teachers shall be reimbursed mileage at the IRS rate.
Traveling Teachers. Schedules of teachers who are assigned to more than one school shall be arranged so that no such teacher shall be required to engage in an unreasonable amount of inter-school travel.
Traveling Teachers. A “Home School” will be assigned to each traveling teacher. Home school assignment is for the purposes of payroll, correspondence, evaluation, and faculty meetings. Principals will collaborate regarding the assignment of duties to traveling teachers in an effort to ensure that a traveling teacher has no more duties assigned than teachers who work in one building. Principals will also collaborate regarding teacher performance issues. However, the principal (or assistant principal) of the home school will deliver the evaluation. Teachers traveling to more than one building during a school day will be scheduled travel time plus 15 minutes of preparation time. A teacher who travels between schools within a day will be given sufficient travel time that will be in addition to plan time or lunch time. Travel time will be based on adequate drive time, time of the day for travel, route conditions, and parking arrangements. Teachers who travel within a school day will be compensated at the approved mileage rate. The principal at the home school will notify the traveling teachers of the reimbursement procedure.
