  • Layoff Lists The names of employees who have been laid off or demoted in lieu of layoff, or whose position has been reallocated down shall be placed on a Seniority Unit Layoff List for the seniority unit, classification, geographic location and employment condition from which they were laid off or demoted in lieu of layoff in order of Classification Seniority. Employees may also indicate, in writing, other geographic locations for which they are available. Employees may change their availability at any time through written notice to the Employer. Unless removed via 1-4, names shall be retained on the layoff list for a minimum of one (1) year or for a period of time equal to the employee's State Seniority, to a maximum of four (4) years. A copy of such list shall be made available to the Council upon request. Upon request, the names of employees who have been laid off or demoted in lieu of layoff, or whose position has been reallocated down shall be placed on a bargaining unit layoff list for the bargaining unit, classification, geographic location, and employment condition from which they were laid off or demoted in lieu of layoff in order of Classification Seniority. Employees may also indicate, in writing, other geographic locations for which they are available. Employees may change their availability at any time through written notice to the Employer. Unless removed via 1-4, names shall be retained on the layoff list for a minimum of one (1) year or for a period of time equal to the employee's State Seniority, to a maximum of four (4) years. A copy of such list shall be made available to the Council upon request. Employees shall be removed from all layoff lists for any of the following reasons:

  • Layoff List A list of all ASF Members laid-off within the prior three (3) year period shall be maintained by the System office. The list shall indicate if an individual has recall rights. The Association President shall be provided a copy of the list, and notified promptly of changes.

  • Layoff Notice (a) The Employer shall give regular full-time and regular part-time employees the following written notice of layoff or normal pay for that period in lieu of notice:

  • Layoff Unit The layoff unit may be at an organizational level of the University, such as a campus, division, college/unit, school, department/unit, area, program, or other level of organization as the University deems appropriate.

  • Layoff Units A. A layoff unit is defined as the entity or administrative/organizational unit within the Employer used for determining the available options for employees who are being laid off.

  • Layoff A layoff of an employee shall be deemed to occur when an employee is removed from the work schedule for one (1) week or more due to lack of work.

  • Layoff Recall Section 1. Bargaining unit employees shall be laid off and recalled on the basis of available work within each job classification. Layoffs shall be in reverse order of seniority and recalls shall be in order of seniority; provided however, that in order to avoid layoff and in order to be subject to recall, the most senior employee within the affected classification must be qualified, in the judgment of the University, to perform all available work. Any gross abuse of the University's discretion to judge qualifications shall be subject to the grievance procedure. Any employee who would otherwise be laid off may bump (i.e., replace) the least senior employee in another bargaining unit job classification if they previously held such job with the University and remain qualified, in the judgment of the University, to perform all work available in the job into which they are bumping. An employee who elects not to bump shall not lose their right to recall to the employee’s regular job, but shall lose their bumping rights for the duration of the layoff. When it becomes necessary to lay off an employee, such employee shall, if possible, be notified at least ten (10) work days before the layoff occurs; provided, however, such notice shall not be required with respect to temporary layoffs or lack of work occasioned by breakdown of machinery, floods, fires, utility failures, Acts of God, or other causes beyond the University's control. When an employee is to be recalled from layoff, the University shall notify the employee by telephone (confirmed by certified or hand delivered letter, copy to Chief Xxxxxxx) specifying the time to report back to work, which notice shall, if possible, not be less than five (5) work days prior to the reporting time. In order to be eligible for recall, any employee who is laid off must keep the University currently advised in writing of their current whereabouts, address and telephone number, and any temporary changes thereof. The employee shall, within twenty-four (24) hours after receiving notice of recall, notify the University if for any reason the employee cannot report for work at the specified time. In the event an employee is unable to return to work due to illness or injury certified by a physician, the employee shall not lose their right to subsequent recall but the University may pass them over in order to fill an available position.

  • Layoff Notification The Appointing Authority shall send a layoff notice to the employee in the position to be eliminated. The layoff notice shall be provided to the employee in person whenever practicable and shall otherwise be sent by priority mail. At the Appointing Authority’s discretion, an employee under notice of permanent layoff may be granted up to one hundred and sixty (160) hours of paid leave, ending at the date of layoff. Hours of leave may be granted at any time throughout the layoff notice period and shall not be subject to the Application and Reinstatement provisions of Article 10. Upon request, an Appointing Authority shall provide an employee on notice of layoff assistance in searching for State employment. Provisional, temporary and emergency employees shall be terminated before any layoff of probationary or permanent employees in the same class, employment condition and geographic location/principal place of employment. Provisional employees shall be separated in inverse order of the date of their provisional appointment.

  • Removal from Layoff Lists Employees shall be removed from all layoff lists for any of the following reasons:

  • Sick Leave Transfer An employee may transfer their earned sick leave to a spouse, sister, brother, parent, child or any designated person employed by the District under the provisions of. Board Policy 3430.03—Sick Leave (c) (3) (4) and related procedures.
