LEAD DRIVERSECTION 1: During the term of this Agreement, the Employer shall have the right to establish one or more Lead Driver positions at the covered locations. Lead Drivers will be considered bargaining unit employees covered under this Agreement in all respects, Lead drivers are not supervisory and shall have zero supervisory powers, including making the hiring decision, administering or recommending discipline, making the decision on scheduling, or selecting others for work. SECTION 2: Employees shall not be required to accept the designation of Lead Driver. The selection of employees to be designated as Lead Drivers left to the sole discretion of the Employer and shall be based on the Employer’s evaluation of the employees’ respective qualifications, except that where the Employer deems two or more employees equally qualified, the most senior employee shall be offered the designation. Drivers are encouraged to notify Management of their interest to be considered for a Lead Driver position at any time. The Lead Driver Job Description is in Appendix B. However, that Job Description shall in no way require a bargaining unit employee to engage in supervisory activities such as hiring, firing, responsibly directing, scheduling work or effectively recommending discipline for other bargaining unit employees. SECTION 3: Employees designated as Lead Drivers shall be entitled to their regular hourly rate of pay plus a premium of no less than $0.50/hour for all administrative hours worked. Employees who are divested of the Lead Driver designation, either at their request or on the Employer’s decision, shall forfeit the Lead Driver premium. SECTION 4: The Parties agree to meet and confer to discuss any issues regarding the Lead Driver classification.

LEAD DRIVER. A lead driver will be designated by the Union for location shoots to supervise drivers and coordinate the needs of transportation. The lead driver will be assigned to drive a vehicle. No lead driver is necessary if there is only one driver under covered employment.
LEAD DRIVER. The rate of pay for lead driver is the basic rate of pay plus one dollar and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour.
LEAD DRIVERThe Company may appoint one or more bargaining unit employees to act as “Lead Driver” during the weekend when it determines that operational needs dictate this appointment. An employee will receive a differential of $1.00 per hour for hours worked while acting in the capacity of Lead Driver.
LEAD DRIVERAn employee who serves as a Lead Driver, as may be required by a particular school or school district, may be given responsibilities that may include: recording information on school check-in sheets, checking for on-time vehicles, notifying dispatch about late vehicle, contacting school personnel for delivering routing information or related problems, or such other items as may be requested by the Employer and/or a particular school or school district. Lead Drivers shall receive a premium of one-quarter hour’s pay per report or time spent working in excess of the normal guarantee, whichever is greater. Driver’s Assistants assigned to Lead Drivers do not receive this additional pay unless they work such time. Available Lead Driver positions shall be awarded on the basis of terminal seniority on the route to Drivers so desiring such positions.

  • Bus Drivers The provisions of this Article apply to school term bus drivers except as hereinafter modified. Bus Drivers are guaranteed a base of one thousand and ninety (1090) hours per school year. Guarantee consists of 1090 hours divided by possible working days in a school year times actual number of days worked. This excludes Saturday and Sunday and General Holiday trips. (a) Regular shift is defined as the conveyance of passengers to school in the morning and home in the afternoon. (b) Extra shift is defined as the conveyance of passengers for extra-curricular activities. (c) Shifts shall be paid at a minimum of two (2) hours and drivers' time will be uninterrupted if less than one-half (½) hour remains between shifts. (i) Drivers are entitled to one 15 minute rest period after two (2) hours of work and a second rest period after six (6) hours of work. Paid waiting times of 15 minutes or more will be construed as a paid rest period regardless of the length of time spent waiting. (d) All work after nineteen hundred (1900) hours on those days on which the regular shift has been worked shall be deemed to be overtime. After twelve (12) hours from the start of the regular shift, work will be deemed as overtime. (e) Hours of work consisting of regular and extra shifts and overtime are shared as equally as possible amongst drivers. Each driver has the opportunity to choose a percentage of the work available beyond one’s guaranteed hours, although the decision of the Employer will prevail. If no drivers are available, other transportation department staff may share the work. (f) Where School District transportation is used for extra-curricular trips on Saturdays and Sundays, the following applies instead of the overtime rates in Article 10.2: (i) Time and one-half (1 ½) regular rate for driving to and from destination. (ii) Upon arrival at destination, waiting time shall be paid at the regular rate of pay. (iii) No shift will be paid less than four (4) hours. (iv) Trips that are cancelled where the driver positions into departure point/school shall be paid at two (2) hours at one and one half (1 ½) times the regular rate. (v) All work carried out in this sub paragraph 9.5(f) shall be on a volunteer basis and shared as equally as possible. All Transportation employees may participate and shall be paid at the Bus Driver rate of pay. (vi) An exception to 9.5 (f) (i) to (iv) above will apply to bus driving on ski trips. Bus drivers who drive on ski trips shall share those hours only with other registered ski trip drivers. (g) Work carried out on General Holidays shall be paid in accordance with the current contract rates. (h) At the end of each school year a review of school bus drivers’ hours of work will be made to ensure minimum guarantee is met. Any shortages will be paid out.

  • LEAD HANDS 28.01 Lead hands may be appointed by the Gallery from time to time as the Gallery in its discretion deems necessary. Lead hand responsibilities generally include assigning and monitoring work performance, scheduling, administration and resolving work-related problems. Such persons shall receive an additional one dollar ($ 1.00) per hour for each hour worked for the duration of the appointment. This lead hand premium will not form part of the employee's regular straight time hourly rate.

  • Summer Session A. All ASEs employed in the Summer Session shall receive the same general range adjustment as ASEs received in the preceding Fall term. B. The following articles apply to ASEs who are employed in the summer session: Recognition, Wages (range adjustment only), DCP, Travel, Health and Safety, Leaves, Holidays, Duration, Workspace and Instructional Support, Parking, Grievance and Arbitration, Waiver, Management and Academic Rights, No Strikes, Non-Discrimination, Union Access and Rights, Union Security, Discipline and Dismissal, Emergency Layoff, Employment Files and Evaluations, Definitions, Severability, Labor-Management Meetings, and Classifications. C. The remainder of the articles in the agreement does not apply to ASEs who are employed in the summer session. D. The topic of Summer Session, and effects of changes on terms and conditions of employment for ASEs employed in Summer Session, shall be reopened for bargaining commencing no later than January 2, 2001.

  • Department Chairpersons 17.1 In each elementary, middle and senior high school, the need for department chairpersons/team leaders shall be determined by the principal. Each such department chairperson/team leader shall be appointed for one (1) academic year. If possible, such appointment should be made prior to the end of the preceding academic year. Teachers shall have the right to refuse such appointment. Team leaders will have coordinating and planning functions for their teams and shall serve as liaison between their teams and the principal. They shall not be considered administrative employees. 17.2 When feasible, and after consultation with them, department chairpersons and team leaders will be provided with release time commensurate with the responsibilities assigned to them by their principal.

  • Staff Development Leave (a) An employee will be granted leave without loss of pay, at their basic rate of pay, to take courses (including related examinations) or attend conferences, conventions, seminars, workshops, symposiums or similar out-of-service programs, at the request of the Employer. The amount of pay received by an employee will not exceed the full-time daily hours of work as outlined in Clause 14.2 (Hours of Work). When such leave is granted, the Employer will bear the full cost, including tuition fees, entrance or registration fees, laboratory fees, and course-related books. The Employer will also reimburse the employee for approved travelling, subsistence, and other legitimate, applicable expenses. (b) An employee may be granted leave without pay, with pay, or leave with partial pay, to take work related courses in which the employee wishes to enrol to acquire the skills necessary to enhance opportunities. (c) Approval of requests will be given reasonable consideration and leaves pursuant to this article will be administered in a reasonable manner. (d) Should the employee noted above terminate their employment for any reason during the six month period following completion of the above-noted leave, the employee will reimburse the Employer for all expenses incurred by the Employer (i.e. tuition fees, entrance or registration fees, laboratory fees, and course-required books) on a proportionate basis.

  • PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM 5.1 The Employee agrees to participate in the performance management system that the Employer adopted for the employees of the Employer; 5.2 The Employee accepts that the purpose of the performance management system will be to provide a comprehensive system with specific performance standards to assist the employees and service providers to perform to the standards required; 5.3 The Employer must consult the Employee about the specific performance standards and targets that will be included in the performance management system applicable to the Employee; 5.4 The Employee undertakes to actively focus on the promotion and implementation of the key performance indicators (including special projects relevant to the employee’s responsibilities) within the local government framework; 5.5 The criteria upon which the performance of the Employee shall be assessed shall consist of two components, Operational Performance and Competencies both of which shall be contained in the Performance Agreement; 5.6 The Employee’s assessment will be based on his performance in terms of the outputs/outcomes (performance indicators) identified as per attached Performance Plan, which are linked to the KPAs, and will constitute 80% of the overall assessment result as per the weightings agreed to between the Employer and Employee; 5.7 The Competencies will make up the other 20% of the Employee’s assessment score. The Competencies are spilt into two groups, leading competencies (indicated in blue on the graph below) that drive strategic intent and direction and core competencies (indicated in green on the graph below), which drive the execution of the leading competencies.
