Leave for Association. The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence, without pay, to nurses selected by the Association to attend Association business including conferences, conventions and Provincial meetings. The cumulative total leave of absence, the amount of notice, the number of nurses that may be absent at any one from any one area and the number of days is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. During such leave of absence, the nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital and the local Association agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the daily rate of the nurse except for Provincial meetings which will be reimbursed by the Association. The Hospital will bill the local Association within a reasonable period of time. Board of A nurse who is elected to the Board of Directors of the Ontario Nurses' Association, other than to the office of President, shall be granted upon request such leave(s) of absence as she may require to the duties of her position. Reasonable notice sufficient to adequately allow the Hospital to disruption of its services shall be given to the Hospital for such leave of absence. Notwithstanding Article there shall be no loss of seniority or service during such leave of absence. Leave of absence under this provision shall be in addition to the Association leave provided in Article above. During such leave of absence, the nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital in the amount of' the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits.

  • Time Off for Association Business 21.01 Upon written request by the Association to the permanent head, and with the approval in writing of the permanent head, leave with pay shall be awarded to an employee as follows:

  • Hospital-Association Committee (a) There shall be a Hospital-Association Committee comprised of representatives of the Hospital, one of whom shall be the Chief Nursing Officer or designate and of the Association, one of whom shall be the Bargaining Unit President or designate. The number of representatives is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions and the membership of the Committee may be expanded by mutual agreement.

  • Leave of Absence for Employees Who Serve as Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association An employee who serves as Local Coordinator for the Ontario Nurses' Association shall be granted leave of absence without pay up to a total of thirty-five (35) days annually. Leave of absence for Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association will be separate from the Union leave provided in (a) above.

  • Association Interview The Association will be allowed to interview newly employed nurses during the Hospital’s general orientation and, when possible, be notified of the date for the interview at least two (2) weeks in advance.

  • Court Appearance Leave Without Pay An employee may request and shall be granted leave without pay for the time required to make an appearance as a plaintiff or defendant in a civil or criminal court proceeding that is not connected with the employee's officially assigned duties. However, reduction in salary will not be made for an FLSA-exempt employee to testify in court or at a deposition except for full workweek increments where such testimony causes an absence of one (1) or more full workweeks.

  • Association Grievance A grievance, as defined in Section 7.1, relating to occurrences actually involving at least three (3) nurses or arising under the Association Representative article, may be initiated by the Association at Step 2 of the above-mentioned procedure by the filing of a written grievance, signed by a representative of the Association, within 35 calendar days from the date of occurrence. Such grievance shall describe the problem and the contract provisions alleged to have been violated.

  • ASSOCIATION RIGHTS The Association and its members shall have the right to:

  • Joint Venture, Consortium or Association 6.1 If the Supplier is a joint venture, consortium, or association, all of the parties shall be jointly and severally liable to the Procuring Entity for the fulfilment of the provisions of the Contract and shall designate one member of the joint venture, consortium, or association to act as a leader with authority to bind the joint venture, consortium, or association.   • Leave for Court Appearances (a) The Employer shall grant paid leave to employees, other than employees on leave without pay, who serve as jurors or witnesses in a court action, provided such court action is not occasioned by the employee's private affairs.
