Total Leave Clause Samples
The Total Leave clause defines the overall amount of leave an employee is entitled to during a specified period, such as annually. It typically outlines the total number of days or hours available for all types of leave, including vacation, sick leave, and personal days, and may specify how leave is accrued or carried over. This clause ensures both employer and employee have a clear understanding of leave entitlements, helping to prevent disputes and manage workforce planning effectively.

Total Leave. Within any calendar year, Employees may take up to a total of 16 weeks of personal medical leave (unpaid and/or paid). Employees may take up to 16 weeks of family medical leave (unpaid and/or paid). EarthRights International Department of People and Culture may request that an Employee provide documentation from a health care provider for use of medical leave. Employees who require long term medical leave in excess of their allowed days under these provisions must first have approval from their supervisor and the EarthRights International Executive Director, and they must use vacation time during their extended leave. If their leave still exceeds their allowable vacation time, they may request unpaid leave from their supervisor and the EarthRights International Executive Director. In the situation where the Employee is receiving salary assistance during their medical leave from another source (such as an insurance policy), EarthRights International is not responsible for paying that portion of their salary. It is the Employee’s duty to report receipt of any such assistance to their supervisor in writing who will inform the Finance Director.
