Local OECTA Leaves. (a) The Association shall forward a list of the unit officers to the Board by September 1st of each year. (b) The Board shall provide the Association with a list of the appropriate personnel with whom the Association may be required to transact business. (c) The authorized representative of the Association shall be permitted to transact the business of the Association with members on Board property provided such business does not interfere with or interrupt normal operations. It is understood that the representative of the Association shall notify the principal or designate of the school prior to the conduct of such business. (d) Upon written request by the Local Teachers’ Bargaining Unit seven (7) days in advance, where possible, the Board shall grant and pay for a leave of absence without loss of salary, benefits, sick leave credits, seniority, and experience for grid placement, up to a maximum of seven (7) F.T.E. teaching days per school year to each local OECTA executive member to attend local OECTA meetings. (e) Upon written request by the Local Teachers’ Bargaining Unit seven (7) days in advance, where possible, occasional release time shall be granted to Teachers without loss of salary, benefits, sick leave credits, seniority, and experience for grid placement to carry out OECTA activities for the local level. (f) It is understood that the maximum release time to be granted under (d) and (e) combined in total shall be seventy (70) days per school year. The Board shall pay for the first forty-four (44) days. Commencing on the forty-fifth (45th) day, the Local Unit shall reimburse the Board at the Occasional Teacher’s daily rate. Such reimbursement shall be inclusive of the cost of benefits of the Occasional Teacher. It is understood that reimbursement shall not apply for Teachers covered by 11.01.

  • Local Union Leave Upon written request, leave of absence without pay shall be granted to employees for Union business in accordance with the following provisions: i) In bargaining units with up to 12 members, no more than one (1) employee shall be on leave at any one time. In bargaining units with 13 or more members, no more than two (2) employees shall be on leave at any one time. ii) The aggregate total number of days of leave, including Provincial Committee Leave, will not exceed sixty-five (65) working days in a calendar year. iii) The Union will give at least four (4) weeks’ written notice where practicable. iv) Replies to request for leaves of absence shall be given within two

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 18.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer. 18.2 If a bereavement occurs while an employee is absent on annual leave, sick leave on pay, or other special leave on pay, such leave may be interrupted and bereavement leave granted in terms of 18.1 above. This provision will not apply if the employee is on leave without pay. 18.3 In granting time off and for how long, the employer must administer these provisions in a culturally sensitive manner.

  • Industrial Relations Training Leave Union Delegate/Employee Representative shall have access to industrial relations training in accordance with Appendix E hereof.

  • Union Leaves Employees on Union Leaves will be treated as provided in Article 18 (Q) while working on Union leave.

  • FMLA Leave The Board agrees to comply with the Family and Medical Leave Act and agrees that any policy adopted to implement the FMLA shall in no way reduce or adversely impact any other provision of this Agreement.

  • Donor Leave An employee shall be granted the necessary leave of absence with pay for the purpose of donating bone marrow or an organ.

  • Employment Relations Education Leave Employment Relations Education Leave will be allowed in accordance with the Employment Relations Act.

  • Trade Union Training Leave Subject to all qualifications in this clause, an employee appointed or elected as an accredited representative of the union to which he/she belongs will, upon application in writing to the Enterprise, be granted up to 5 days leave with pay each calendar year non-cumulative to attend courses conducted or approved by the Union.

  • Other Leaves Other short-term leaves may be granted at the discretion of the Chancellor. The Chancellor’s decision to approve or deny the request shall be final.

  • Volunteer Firefighting Leave Leave without pay will be granted when an employee who is a volunteer firefighter is called to duty to respond to a fire, natural disaster or medical emergency.
