A media center pass needs to clearly indicate the purpose of the Internet use. Students are not allowed to use the computers and the Internet for any other reasons. • K – 3rd grade students may check out only one book at a time for duration of a week. 4 – 5th grade students may check out up to two books at a time for duration of two weeks. Students are allowed to extend the return date only for a week, if the books are not recalled or reserved by another user. Reference books, magazines, and reserve materials are not available for check out. • Books and other materials should be returned to the book-return box at the circulation desk so that they will be checked in properly. At that time, the student should complete a Missing Items Form which will permit the item to be returned to the owner should it be found or located. Should the owner find the item themselves or it be returned directly to them, they should notify the Assistant Principal as soon as the item has been located. Parents, guardians, and students should follow the rules of OSS Pick-Up/Drop-Off Agreement and designated personnel’s directions in the drop off and dismissal area. Student parking permits are contingent on disciplinary actions, tardiness, and GPA. Please refer to student parking pass formsfor detailed requirements. Student parking passes may be suspended and revoked due to the failure of adherence to school rules and requirements. There are several opportunities at OSS which a parent can volunteer. Among these are jobs as library assistants, cafeteria aides, clinic volunteers, room representatives, and instructional partners.
