MERIT DAY. 1. Any certified teacher, who has accumulated one hundred fifty (150) days of sick leave as of the second pay in October, for each year of this contract, will receive one (1) merit day, for each year of this contract. If the teacher has accumulated three hundred (300) days of sick leave as of, the second pay in October each year of this contract, he/she will receive a total of two (2) merit days, for each year of this contract. These days may be used for any reason and not counted against any leave usage. No more than five (5) teachers district wide may use a merit day on any given day. This day shall be approved on a first-come first-granted basis. 2. All requests for the merit day shall be submitted on the approved form five (5) full working days prior to the merit day request. However, in the event of an unusual circumstance, the employee shall contact the Superintendent who will make a reasonable effort to permit the merit day without the five (5) day notice. 3. The merit day is not cumulative. 4. A teacher shall receive a stipend of $50.00 per each earned merit day that is not used in the previous school year.

MERIT DAY. 39.01. The Mayor, after a recommendation from the Chief, is authorized to award members with a "Merit Day." 39.02. The Chief of the Police Department or designee may recommend the award of a merit day to the Mayor when it is believed that a member of the bargaining unit has performed service on behalf of the City of Xxxxxxxx Heights that is exemplary or meritorious. 39.03. The final award of a merit day is totally discretionary with the Mayor and any decision regarding the approval of the Chief s recommendation is not subject to the grievance procedure and may not be appealed in any forum. 39.04. A merit day will consist of one (1) shift off duty with full pay and benefits to be assigned by the Chief of the Police Department, depending on availability of personnel, after the Mayor has authorized the award. 39.05. A merit day is considered time worked for overtime purposes. 39.06. It is recognized by the parties that the award of a merit day is not a contractual right, but is a privilege, and that the recommendation of the Chief and award of the Mayor, and the basis upon which any merit day is ever awarded or denied, is totally and completely within the discretion of the Police Chief and the Mayor, and that the decision of either is final and unappealable.

MERIT DAY. 35.1 A member's Department Head or their designee may recommend that the Mayor award a merit day to a member of the bargaining unit when it is believed that the member has performed service on behalf of the City that is exemplary or meritorious. 35.2 The Mayor shall have the sole discretion to award a merit day. The award of a merit day is not a contractual right, but a privilege. The decision to recommend a merit day or the decision to award a merit day shall not be subject to the grievance procedure or any other review process. 35.3 After the Mayor has made the award, a merit day shall consist of one (1) shift off duty with full pay and benefits to be assigned by the Chief or the Department Head, depending upon the availability of personnel. 35.4 A merit day is considered time in active pay status for purposes of scheduling overtime.

  • Payment Day If the date for payment of any amount in respect of any Note, Receipt or Coupon is not a Payment Day, the holder thereof shall not be entitled to payment until the next following Payment Day in the relevant place and shall not be entitled to further interest or other payment in respect of such delay. The intent is that there will be no more than twelve (12) paid holidays per calendar year for the duration of this agreement.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An Employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double time and one-half (2½) for hours worked, plus a day off subject to this Agreement.

  • PAY DAY (a) The Employer shall pay each Nurse every two (2) weeks. The amount shall be in accordance with the applicable hourly rate for the Nurse’s classification and increment level listed in Appendix “A”. Payment will include regular pay and will include any other income earned during the preceding pay period. Every effort will be made to supply requested information to a Nurse as to the amount paid on or before pay day. (b) In the event that an error made by the Employer results in a Nurse not receiving four (4) or more hours or wages earned in any one pay period, the Employer will endeavour to adjust the error and pay the wages within two (2) business days of the error having being identified.

  • Enrollment Period Educational Support Professionals may elect to participate in the Career Transition Trust annually during a two (2) week enrollment period determined by the District, but that will occur no later than May 1st each year, provided they have met the eligibility requirements for participation in Subdivision. 2.

  • School Day The school day for members of the bargaining unit shall not exceed seven and one-half (7½) hours of consecutive time which shall include a duty-free, uninterrupted lunch period of no less than thirty (30) minutes.

  • Next Business Day Whenever any payment or other obligation hereunder shall be due on a day other than a Business Day, such payment shall be made on the next succeeding Business Day.
