A Regular Full-time Employee required by the Employer to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on a Named Holiday at one point five times (1.5 X) the Basic Rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, plus: (a) payment for such day at the Basic Rate of Pay; or (b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or (c) by mutual agreement, a day added to her next annual vacation. 17.04 When a paid holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 above. 17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full-time Employee's annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as per clause 17.03 above. 17.03 Regular 44.1 Full-time Employees shall be entitled to a day off with pay on or for the following Named Holidays: New Year's Day Alberta Family Day Good Friday Victoria Day Canada Day August Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day and all general holidays proclaimed to be a statutory holiday by the Province of Alberta.
44.1.1 Where a general holiday is proclaimed to be a statutory holiday by the municipality or the Government of Canada, the parties agree to meet to discuss the applicability of the holiday to the bargaining unit.
44.2 If DynaLIFE designates a common date for the day off with pay in lieu of a Named Holiday which falls on a Saturday or Sunday, for all or some of the Employees, such common date shall be designated by way of a notice posted at least three (3) months prior to the occurrence of the Named Holiday. .
44.3 To qualify for a Named Holiday with pay, the Employee must work the scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following each holiday, except when the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to DynaLIFE, and work on the Named Holiday when scheduled or required to do so.
(a) A Regular Fullfull-time Employee required by obliged in the Employer course of duty to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on a the Named Holiday at one point five and one-half times (1.5 X) her basic rate of pay plus:
(i) one (1) day's pay; or
(ii) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time within the Basic Rate thirty (30) days prior or sixty (60) days after, or the day shall be paid; or
(iii) by mutual agreement, a day added to her next annual vacation;
(iv) if a mutually agreed time cannot be determined the Employee will be compensated with one (1) day's pay at the basic rate of Pay and pay;
(v) compensating time off at her basic rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of the regular hours of work specified in Article 27.
(b) An Employee obliged, in the course of duty to work on Christmas and/or New Years Day shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at two times (2.0 X2X) the Basic Rate her basic rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, pay plus:
(ai) payment for such day at the Basic Rate of Payone (1) days' pay; or
(bii) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or
(ciii) by mutual agreement, a day added to her next annual vacation; and
(iv) compensating time off at her basic rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of the regular hours of work specified in Article 27
44.5 When a Named Holiday falls during an Employee's annual vacation, the Employee shall receive by mutual agreement, a day added to the vacation period; or an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time. Failing mutual agreement as to the option to be applied, one (1) days' pay at her basic rate of pay.
17.04 When 44.6 No payment shall be due for a Named Holiday which occurs during a layoff; or during all forms of leave during which an Employee is not paid; or when an Employee is receiving Short- or Long-Term Disability Benefits.
44.7 Full time Employees working a modified work day shall be entitled to the eleven Named Holidays and shall be paid holiday for the same basic rate of pay for the applicable daily hours worked to a maximum of eighty-eight (88) hours per annum.
44.8 If a date is not designated pursuant to Article 44.2, and subject to Article 44.3, when a Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time an Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive receive:
(i) one (1) day's pay; or
(ii) an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 above.at a mutually agreed time within the thirty (30) days prior or sixty (60) days after, or the day shall be paid; or
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full-time Employee's annual vacation, such holiday may, (iii) by mutual agreement, be a day added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as per clause 17.03 above. No Employee is responsible for making arrangements for replacements.

17.02 To qualify i) If a Nurse works Christmas Eve Day and is off on New Year’s Eve Day, then New Year’s Eve is the stat day. The Nurse is paid at the regular rate for Christmas Eve Day.
ii) If a Named Holiday with payNurse works New Year’s Eve Day and is off Christmas Eve Day, then Christmas Eve Day is the Employee must:stat day. The Nurse is paid at the regular rate for New Year’s Eve Day.
(aiii) work their scheduled shift immediately prior to If a Nurse works both, Christmas Eve Day is at regular pay and immediately following New Year’s Eve Day is considered the holiday, except where stat and the Employee Nurse is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer; andpaid time and a half.
(b) work In order for a temporary full-time Nurse to qualify for pay on the a named holiday when scheduledshe does not work, she must meet the criteria set forth in Part VII, Section 26, Subsection 1 of the Employment Standards Act of Ontario.
17.03 Regular Full(c) At the written request of the Nurse submitted four (4) weeks in advance of the named holiday, she shall receive premium pay at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) for hours worked on that day over and above the seventy-five (75) hour averaging period in lieu of compensating time Employees shall be entitled to a day off with pay on and the one half (1/2) times premium referred to in c) above.
13.02 Requests to work either the day before Christmas Day or the day before New Year's Day shall be submitted by a Named HolidayNurse to the Immediate supervisor no later than October 15th. A Regular Full-time Employee required The finalized work schedule shall be posted by the Employer no later than November 15th. In the case of a dispute, time off on either the day before Christmas or the day before New Year's Day will be scheduled on a rotational basis unless mutually agreed otherwise.
13.03 Regular part-time Nurses shall be paid on each pay cheque 4.88% of their individual straight time earnings, exclusive of overtime pay and all other premiums, in lieu of named holidays.
13.04 A regular part-time, temporary part-time or casual Nurse who is required to work on a Named Holiday named holiday shall be paid at the rate of time and one half (1-1/2) her basic hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on a Named Holiday at one point five times (1.5 X) such named holiday and the Basic Rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, plus:
(a) payment for such day at the Basic Rate of Pay; or
(b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or
(c) by mutual agreement, a day added to her next annual vacation.
17.04 When a paid holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 above.

(e) receiving paid Sick Leave, Short Term Disability or Long Term Disability Benefitsnamed holiday so worked.
17.08 An Employee shall be so scheduled as 13.05 For Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, and prior to provide posting a schedule, the Employee with days off on either Christmas or New Year's Day off unless otherwise requested by Employer will canvass the Employee.
(a) An Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with clause 17.08 shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where they shall not be obligated Nurses to determine volunteers willing to work (i.both days. Following this the Employer will attempt to accommodate Nurses who only wish to work one of these days.

27.02 To qualify for a Named Holiday named holiday with pay, pay the Employee must:
(a) work their his scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday, holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer; and;
(b) work on the paid holiday when scheduledscheduled or required to do so.
17.03 Regular Full-time Employees 27.03 An Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a named holiday shall be entitled paid for all hours worked on the named holiday at one and one- half times (1 1/2 X) his Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee’s next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay on a Named Holiday. A Regular Full-in conjunction with the Employee’s regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day’s pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time Employee required by the Employer off at his Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on a Named Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on a the Named Holiday at one point five two times (1.5 X2X) the Basic Rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, plusPay. Plus:
(a) payment for such day at the Basic Rate of Pay; or
(b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or
(ci) by mutual agreement, a day added to her the Employee’s next annual vacation; or
(ii) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee’s regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(iii) one (1) regular day’s pay.
17.04 27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee’s vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a paid named holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time Time Employee's ’s regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive an alternate receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 above.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full-time Employee's annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate Employee’s next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee’s regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day’s pay in lieu of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be dealt made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner as to provide her with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as per clause 17.03 aboveprovided in Article 27.

17.03 Regular Full-time Employees shall be entitled to a day off with pay on a Named Holiday. A Regular Full-time (a) Except as specified in Article 17.03(b) an Employee required by the Employer obliged to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on a the Named Holiday at one point five times (1.5 X) 1 1/2X the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, plus:
(a) payment for such day at the Basic Rate of Pay; or
(bi) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or;
(cii) by mutual agreement, a day added to her the Employee’s next annual vacation, or
(iii) by mutual agreement, the Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay.
(b) An Employee obliged to work on Christmas Day shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at 2X the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(i) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time;
(ii) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee’s next annual vacation; or
(iii) by mutual agreement, the Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay.
(c) Pay for the day referred in Article 17.03(a)(i)(ii)(iii) shall be for 7.5 hours.
(d) The Employer shall not schedule the alternate day until such time as the Employee and Employer have endeavoured to agree on the date of the alternate day off. Failing mutual agreement within 30 calendar days following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall have a day off with pay scheduled adjacent to a scheduled day of rest.
(e) In addition to an alternate day off, an Employee who is obliged to work overtime on a Named Holiday shall be paid as follows:
(i) For all overtime hours worked on a Named Holiday 2.5X their Basic Rate of Pay.
(ii) For all overtime hours worked on Christmas Day 3X their Basic Rate of Pay.
17.04 When a paid holiday Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time an Employee's ’s regularly scheduled day offof rest, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 Article 17.03(b) above.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full-time an Employee's ’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as per clause 17.03 above. No Employee is responsible for making arrangements for replacementsset out in Article 17.03.

NAMED HOLIDAYS. 17.01 10.01 The following are the Named Holidaysdays will be considered as paid named holidays: DRAFT

(ii) The Government of the Province of Alberta or the Government of Canada. Effective September 30, 2023, amend 17.01 as follows: The following are the Named Holidays: New Year's Day Labour Day Alberta Family Day National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Remembrance Day Canada Day Christmas Day August Civic Holiday (Heritage Day) Boxing Day And all general holidays (commonly called STAT holidays) proclaimed by the City or Municipality or the Province of Alberta Alberta; or the Government of Canada.
17.02 (b) The Employer will determine when the Christmas Float Holiday (three paid days) will be observed so as to ensure that the efficient operation of the schools will be maintained. This Christmas Float Holiday shall be observed during the regular Christmas school holiday period, and
(c) All Employees are entitled to three (3) paid days off to be taken between Christmas and New Year’s except where operational requirements do not permit. Days off shall be designated by the Employer.
10.02 Should any of the holidays listed in 10.01 (a) fall on a weekend, or on an employee’s regular day off, the Employee, shall receive an extra day’s holiday to be taken at a time approved by the Chief Superintendent or the Employee shall receive a regular day’s pay. Part time Employees working less than five (5) days per week shall receive extra holiday credits on a pro rata basis according to the number of days and hours they actually work.
10.03 Church holidays, or any other special holidays, shall be observed at the discretion of the Employer .
10.04 Requests for leave without pay on religious holidays will be considered, provided adequate notice of the request is given.
10.05 When an Employee is called back to work on a paid holiday, they shall be compensated in accordance with the provisions of the Overtime Article.
10.06 Authorized travel on Employer business on a paid holiday shall be considered working hours and shall be compensated in accordance with Article 24.
10.07 An Employee required to work on December 25 or 26 or on January 1 shall be compensated in accordance with the overtime Article.
10.08 To qualify for a Named Holiday with paypaid holidays, an Employee must have worked the Employee must:
(a) work their last scheduled shift immediately prior to the holiday and immediately the first scheduled shift following the holiday, except where the Employee is absent absence due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer; and
(b) work on the holiday when scheduledis substantiated by a certificate, signed by a medical practitioner.
17.03 Regular Full-time Employees shall be entitled to a day off with pay on a Named Holiday. A Regular Full-time Employee required by 10.09 Should any of the Employer to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on a Named Holiday at one point five times (1.5 X) the Basic Rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, plus:

(b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or
(c) by mutual agreement, a day added to her next annual vacation.
17.04 When a paid holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 above.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls fall during a Regular Full-time period of vacation or a period of sick leave the named holiday will be paid and no day shall be deducted from the vacation entitlement or sick credit. DRAFT

17.08 An Employee shall be so scheduled as to provide the Employee with days off on either Christmas or New Year's Day off unless otherwise requested by the Employee.

17.07 23.03 An Employee shall not be entitled to payment for a Named named Holiday or a day off in lieu thereof when the Employee isis absent for any reason for more than thirty (30) days except when she is on approved vacation.
23.04 All Eligible Employees (as per above definition) who are:
(a) Normally scheduled to work on layoff;day of the holiday – does not work: The Employee will be paid their regular wages for the day.
(b) Normally scheduled to work on day of the holiday –works:
(i) The Employee will be paid their regular rate of pay plus time-and- a-half for all hours worked; or
(ii) Employee will be paid their regular wages for the day of the holiday and, within three (3) months after the statutory holiday, will be required to take another day off in receipt lieu of Workers' Compensation benefits;the statutory holiday. The replacement holiday will be a day on which the Employee is normally scheduled to work.
(c) A Casual Employee not normally scheduled to work on an unpaid leave day of absence;holiday – does not work: The Employee will not be entitled to receive pay for the statutory holiday nor another day off with pay.
(d) Casual Employee normally scheduled to work on other leaves day of absence in excess of thirty (30) days;the holiday – works: Employee will be paid time-and-a-half for all hours worked.
(e) receiving paid Sick Leave, Short Term Disability or Long Term Disability BenefitsIneligible Employee who does not work on day of the holiday: Employee is not entitled to receive pay for the holiday nor another day off with pay.
17.08 An (f) Ineligible Employee shall who works on day of the holiday: Employee is entitled to be so scheduled as paid at regular rates of pay for all hours worked.
23.05 All Employees who work an irregular work schedule will be paid according to provide the Employee with days off on either Christmas or New Year's Day off unless otherwise requested by the Employee.following guidelines:
(a) An If during at least five of the last nine weeks, the Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with clause 17.08 shall regularly worked on the day of the week that the general holiday falls, the holiday is to be scheduled such considered a day that would normally have been a workday for the Employee and paid accordingly.
23.06 If a general holiday falls during an Employee’s annual paid vacation, and it falls on a day that the Employee would normally have worked, the paid vacation will be extended by one day. Alternatively, the Employee will have the option of taking decreased vacation by one day.
23.07 Whenever one of the above-mentioned holidays falls on a Saturday or a Sunday and the Government of Canada and the Government of the Province of Alberta, or either of them in the absence of the other, proclaim that such public holiday be observed on a day other than Saturday or Sunday, then the day so proclaimed shall have two (2) consecutive days where they shall not be obligated to work (i.read in substitution for such public holiday.

(b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed timetime to be used within a ninety (90) day period after the holiday; or
(c) by mutual agreement, a failure to mutually schedule the lieu day added to her next annual vacationwill result in the Employer paying the alternate day.
17.04 When a paid holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time Employee's ’s and Regular Part-time Employee’s regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause Clause 17.03 above.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full-time Employee's ’s and Regular Part- time Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as per clause Article 17.03 above. 27.02 To qualify for a Named Holiday named holiday with pay, pay the Employee must:
(a) work their scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday, holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer; and;
(b) work on the paid holiday when scheduledscheduled or required to do so.
17.03 Regular Full-time Employees 27.03 An Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a named holiday shall be entitled paid for all hours worked on the named holiday at one and one-half times (11/2 X) their Basic Rate of Pay plus:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day added to the Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay on a Named Holiday. A Regular Full-in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay.
(d) where applicable, an Employee shall receive, in addition to the above, compensating time Employee required by the Employer off at their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked in excess of normal daily hours referred to in Article 20.01.
(e) Employees obliged to work on a Named Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on a the Named Holiday at one point five two times (1.5 X2X) the Basic Rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, plusPay. Plus:
(a) payment for such day at the Basic Rate of Pay; or
(b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or
(ci) by mutual agreement, a day added to her the Employee's next annual vacation; or

17.04 27.04 Should a named holiday fall during an Employee's vacation period, that day shall be taken off as the Named Holiday day at the Basic Rate of Pay.
27.05 When a paid named holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time Time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive an alternate receive:
(a) by mutual agreement, a day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 above.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full-time Employee's annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) a mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the Employee's regular days off within thirty (30) calendar days after the named holiday; or
(c) one (1) regular day's pay in lieu of the named holiday.
27.06 No payment shall be dealt made for any named holiday occurring during a layoff or unpaid leave of absence.
27.07 The Employer shall endeavor to schedule an Employee in such a manner as to provide them with days off on at least three of the actual named holidays as per clause 17.03 aboveprovided in Article 27.

21.03 A full-time Employee shall be entitled to a day off with pay on or for a Named Holiday provided she:
(a) Works her scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday, holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer; and.
(b) work Works on the holiday Named Holiday when scheduledscheduled or required to do so.
17.03 Regular Full-time Employees shall be entitled 21.04 Subject to Article 17.01 a day off with pay on a Named Holiday. 17.04 21.05 Subject to Article 21.04 when a Named Holiday falls during a full-time Employee's annual vacation the Employee shall receive:
(a) By mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to the full-time Employee's annual vacation; or
(b) A mutually agreeable day off with pay in conjunction with the full-time Employee's regular days off; or
(c) One (1) day of pay at their Basic Rate of Pay in lieu of the Named Holiday.
21.06 When a paid holiday Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Fullfull-time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the full-time Employee shall receive an alternate receive:
(a) By mutual agreement a day off with pay as outlined added to the full-time Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) A mutually agreeable day off with pay in clause 17.03 aboveconjunction with the full-time Employee's regular days off; or
(c) One (1) day of pay at their Basic Rate of Pay in lieu of the Named Holiday.
17.05 21.07 When a Named Holiday falls during on a Regular FullSaturday or Sunday, the Employer may designate the Friday prior or the Monday after the Named Holiday as the day off in lieu of the named Holiday. If such designated day off is a full-time Employee's annual vacationregularly scheduled day off, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as per clause 17.03 above. 17.02 16.02 To qualify for a Named Holiday with pay, the Employee must:
(a) work their her or his scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday, holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer; and;
(b) work on the holiday when scheduledscheduled or required to do so.
17.03 Regular Full-time Employees shall be entitled to a day off with pay on a Named Holiday. (a) A Regular Full-time Employee required by the Employer obliged to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all the first 7.50 hours worked on a the Named Holiday at one point five and a half times (1.5 X1 1/2X) the Basic Rate Employee’s basic rate of Pay and pay, any additional hours worked shall be paid at two times (2.0 X2X) the Basic Rate basic rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Daypay, plus:
(a) payment for such day at the Basic Rate of Pay; or
(b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or
(c) by mutual agreement, a day added to her the Employee’s next annual vacation; or
(d) by mutual agreement, the Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s basic rate of pay.
17.04 (e) The Employer shall not schedule the alternate day off with pay as provided in Article 16.03(b) until such time as the Employee and Employer have endeavoured to agree on the date of the alternate day off. Failing mutual agreement within 30 calendar days following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall have a day off with pay scheduled adjacent to a scheduled day of rest.
16.04 When a paid holiday Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time Employee's ’s regularly scheduled day offof rest, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 Article 16.03 above. Employees working a Monday to Friday schedule will be off with pay on the Monday following the general holiday.
17.05 16.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full-time an Employee's ’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as per clause 17.03 above. No Employee is responsible for making arrangements for replacementsset out in Article 16.03.
(a) A Regular Part-time Employee required to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked at one point five times (l.5 X) their Basic Rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Days.
(b) Each pay period, Regular Part-time Employees shall be paid five percent (5%) of their regular earnings paid at the Basic Rate of Pay, in lieu of Named Holidays as per clause 17.01.
17.07 An Employee shall not be entitled to payment for a Named Holiday or a day off in lieu thereof when the Employee is:
(a) on layoff;
(b) in receipt of Workers' Compensation benefits;
(c) on an unpaid leave of absence;
(d) on other leaves of absence in excess of thirty (30) days;
(e) receiving paid Sick Leave, Short Term Disability or Long Term Disability Benefits.
17.08 An Employee shall be so scheduled as to provide the Employee with days off on either Christmas or New Year's Day off unless otherwise requested by the Employee.

(a) an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 aboveat a mutually agreed time; or
(b) failing mutual agreement within thirty (30) calendar days following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall receive payment for such day at her Basic Rate of Pay.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full-time Employee's annual vacation19.05 Unless an Employee requests otherwise in writing, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off Employees shall be dealt with scheduled, so as per clause 17.03 above. No Employee is responsible for making arrangements for replacementsto be given either Christmas Day or New Year’s Day off.
(a) A Regular 19.06 Notwithstanding Articles 20.03 and 20.04 any remaining alternate days off not taken by December 31st of each year shall be paid out at the Employee’s basic rate of pay.
19.07 In lieu of Named Holidays, Part-time Employee required to work and Casual Employees will be paid four point two three percent (4.23%) of the Basic Rate of Pay for hours worked in each bi-weekly period.
19.08 Overtime worked on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked at one point five times (l.5 X) their Basic Rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X2x) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Days.
(b) Each pay period, Regular Part-time Employees shall be paid five percent (5%) of their regular earnings paid at the applicable Basic Rate of Pay, in lieu of Named Holidays as per clause 17.01.
17.07 An Employee shall not be entitled to payment for a Named Holiday or a day off in lieu thereof when the Employee is:
(a) on layoff;
(b) in receipt of Workers' Compensation benefits;
(c) on an unpaid leave of absence;
(d) on other leaves of absence in excess of thirty (30) days;

17.04 When a paid holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time Employee's ’s and Regular Part-time Employee’s regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause Clause 17.03 above.

21.02 No payment shall be due for the Named Holiday which occurs during:
(a) A layoff; or
(b) All forms of leave during which a Regular Employee is not paid; or
(c) An absence while in receipt of disability insurance or Workers' Compensation benefits.
21.03 A full-time Employee shall be entitled to a day off with pay on or for a Named Holiday provided the Employee:
(a) Works their scheduled shift immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday, holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer; and.
(b) work Works on the holiday Named Holiday when scheduledscheduled or required to do so.

21.06 When a paid holiday Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Fullfull-time Employee's regularly scheduled day off, the full-time Employee shall receive an alternate receive:
(a) By mutual agreement a day off with pay as outlined added to the full-time Employee's next annual vacation; or
(b) A mutually agreeable day off with pay in clause 17.03 aboveconjunction with the full-time Employee's regular days off; or
(c) One (1) day of pay at their Basic Rate of Pay in lieu of the Named Holiday.
17.05 21.07 When a Named Holiday falls during on a Regular FullSaturday or Sunday, the Employer may designate the Friday prior or the Monday after the Named Holiday as the day off in lieu of the named Holiday. If such designated day off is a full-time Employee's annual vacationregularly scheduled day off, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as per clause 17.03 above. No Employee is responsible for making arrangements for replacements.

(ii) by mutual agreement, a day added to his/her next annual vacation; or
(iii) by mutual agreement, the Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s basic hourly rate of pay.
(c) The Employer shall not schedule the alternate day off with pay as provided in clause 18.03 (a), (b), (i) and (ii) until such time as the Employee and the Employer have endeavored to agree on the date of the alternate day off. Failing mutual agreement within thirty (30) calendar days following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall have a day off with pay scheduled adjacent to a scheduled day of rest.
(d) In addition to an alternate day off, an Employee who is obliged to work overtime on a Named Holiday shall be paid as follows:
(i) For all overtime hours worked on a named holiday 2.5X their basic rate of pay.
(ii) For all overtime hours worked on August Civic Holiday and Christmas Day 3X their basic rate of pay.
18.04 When a paid holiday Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time Employee's ’s regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 18.03 above.
17.05 18.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full-time Employee's ’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as per set out in clause 17.03 above. No Employee is responsible for making arrangements for replacements18.03.
(a) A Regular Part-time Unless requested by the Employee, an Employee required shall be scheduled to have either Christmas Day off or New Year’s Day off. When an Employee is scheduled to have Christmas Day off, and/or New Year’s Day off, he/she shall not be scheduled to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked at one point five times (l.5 X) their Basic Rate the evening shift of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Daysday prior.
(b) Each pay period, Regular Part-time Employees shall be paid five percent (5%) of their regular earnings paid at the Basic Rate of Pay, in lieu of Named Holidays as per clause 17.01.
17.07 An Employee shall not be entitled to payment for a Named Holiday or a day off in lieu thereof when the Employee is:
(a) on layoff;
(b) in receipt of Workers' Compensation benefits;
(c) on an unpaid leave of absence;
(d) on other leaves of absence in excess of thirty (30) days;
(e) receiving paid Sick Leave, Short Term Disability or Long Term Disability Benefits.
17.08 An Employee shall be so scheduled as to provide the Employee with days off on either Christmas or New Year's Day off unless Unless otherwise requested by the Employee, the Employer will endeavour that no Employee shall be scheduled to work Christmas Day for two (2) consecutive years.
(a) Unless requested by the Employee, an Employee shall be scheduled to have either Christmas Day off or New Year’s Day off. When an Employee is scheduled to have Christmas Day off, and/or New Year’s Day off, he/she shall not be scheduled to work the evening shift of the day prior.
(i) An Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with clause 17.08 18.06(a) shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where they shall he/she will not be obligated obliged to work (i.i.e., December 24 and 25, or December 25-26).
(ii) An Employee granted New Year’s Day off in accordance with clause 18.06(a) shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where he/she will not be obliged to work (i.e., December 31 and January 1, or January 1-2).
(c) Unless otherwise requested by the Employee, the Employer will endeavour that no Employee shall be scheduled to work Christmas Day for two (2) consecutive years.

A Regular Full-time Employee and Regular Part-time Employees required by the Employer to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on a Named Holiday at one point five times (1.5 X) the Basic Rate basic rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Daypay, plus:: DRAFT
(a) the Employee may request payment for such day at the Basic Rate basic rate of Paypay; or
(b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed timetime to be used within a ninety (90) day period after the holiday; or
(c) by mutual agreement, a failure to mutually schedule the lieu day added to her next annual vacationwill result in the Employer paying an additional day.
17.04 When a paid holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time Employee's ’s and Regular Part-time Employee’s regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause Clause 17.03 above.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full-time Employee's ’s and Regular Part-time Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as per clause Article 17.03 above. No Employee is responsible for making arrangements for replacements.

(c) on an unpaid leave of absence;
(d) on other leaves of absence in excess of thirty fifteen (3015) days;
(e) receiving 17.07 Nothing in this Article shall prevent the Employee and the Employer from agreeing to any combination of time and one half plus a day in lieu or a day's pay and time and one half in lieu for Full-time Employees and Regular Part-time Employees who work on any of the paid Sick Leave, Short Term Disability or Long Term Disability Benefitsholidays in Clause 17.01.

18.06 Part-time and Casual Employees shall be paid in addition to their Regular Rate of Pay five percent (5%) of the Employee’s wages, Named Holiday pay and vacation pay earned in the four (4) weeks immediately preceding the Named Holiday, in lieu of the aforementioned Named Holidays.
18.07 All Employees shall be paid for all overtime hours worked on a named holiday 2.5X their Regular Rate of Pay.
18.08 In addition to the entitlement referenced in Clause 18.06, Part-time and Casual Employees who work on a Named Holiday shall be paid the rate of one point five times (1.5X) the Employee’s Regular Rate of Pay for all hours worked up to 7.75 hours for LPNs, or 7.50 hours for Health Care Aides.

(cii) by mutual agreement, a day added to her the Employee’s next annual vacation; or
(iii) by mutual agreement, the Employee may receive payment for such day at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay.
17.04 (b) The Employer shall not schedule the alternate day off with pay as provided in Article 18.03(a) until such time as the Employee and Employer have endeavoured to agree on the date of the alternate day off. Failing mutual agreement within thirty (30) calendar days following the Named Holiday of the option to be applied, the Employee shall have a day off with pay scheduled adjacent to a scheduled day of rest.
(c) In addition to an alternate day off, an Employee who is obliged to work overtime on a Named Holiday shall be paid as follows:
(i) for all overtime hours worked on a Named Holiday two point five times (2.5X) their Basic Rate of Pay;
18.04 When a paid holiday Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time an Employee's ’s regularly scheduled day offof rest, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 Article 18.03 above.

17.07 An Employee shall not be entitled to payment for a Named Holiday or a day off in lieu thereof when the Employee is:
(a) on layoff;
(b) in receipt of Workers' Compensation benefits;
(c) on an unpaid leave of absence;
(d) on other leaves of absence in excess of thirty (30) days;
(e) receiving paid Sick Leave, Short Term Disability or Long Term Disability Benefits.
17.08 An Employee shall be so scheduled as to provide the Employee with days off on either Christmas or New Year's Day off unless otherwise requested by the Employee.
(a) An Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with clause 17.08 Article 18.06(a) shall be scheduled such that the Employee shall have two (2) consecutive days where they she or he will not be obliged to work (i.e. December 24 and 25; or December 25 and 26).

17.02 32.02 To qualify for a Named Holiday named holiday with pay, the Employee must:
(a) a. work their the scheduled shift day immediately prior to and immediately following the holiday, each holiday except where the Employee is absent due to illness or other reasons acceptable to the Employer; and
(b) b. work on the holiday when scheduledscheduled or required to do so.
17.03 Regular Full-time Employees shall be entitled to a day off with pay on a Named Holiday. A Regular Full-time 32.03 An Employee required by the Employer to work on a Named Holiday named holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on a Named Holiday the paid named holiday at one point five and one-half times (1.5 X1½x) the Basic Rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, her basic rate plus:
a. one (a1) payment for such day at the Basic Rate of Payday’s pay; or
(b) an alternate b. by mutual agreement, a day off at a mutually agreed timewith pay within thirty (30) days either before or after the holiday; or
(c) c. by mutual agreement, a day added to her next annual vacation; or
d. by mutual agreement, compensating time off for all scheduled overtime hours worked at two and one-half times (2 ½x) the hours worked to be taken within thirty (30) days of the named holiday unless the Employer approves a longer period.
17.04 When 32.04 No payment shall be due for a paid named holiday which occurs during:
a. a layoff; or
b. all forms of leave during which an Employee is not paid.
32.05 Subject to Article 32.02, when a named holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time an Employee's ’s regularly scheduled day off, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 aboveat her basic rate of pay.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full32.06 A permanent part-time, long-term part-time, short-term part- time Employee's annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as per clause 17.03 above. No casual Employee is responsible for making arrangements for replacements.
(a) A Regular Part-time Employee required to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked at one point in addition to her basic rate of pay, with each month-end pay, five times (l.5 X) their Basic Rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Days.
(b) Each pay period, Regular Part-time Employees shall be paid five decimal zero percent (55.0%) of their regular earnings paid at the Basic Rate her basic hourly rate of Paypay, in lieu of Named Holidays as per clause 17.01the named holidays and floater holiday.
17.07 An Employee shall not be entitled to payment for a Named Holiday or a day off in lieu thereof when the Employee is:
(a) on layoff;

ii. On December 27 when Christmas falls on Monday or Wednesday.
iii. On December 28 when Christmas falls on Sunday.
16.02 A Full-Time Employee shall be paid for the above Named Holidays at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay for twelve (12) hours a day.
16.03 An Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on a named holiday at one and a half times (1.5X) his Basic Rate of Pay.
16.04 When a Named Holiday falls during an Employee’s annual vacation, such holiday(s) may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or if this is not possible, the Employee shall be granted another day or other days off in lieu thereof.
16.05 No payment shall be due for a Named Holiday which occurs during:
(a) a layoff; or
(b) all forms of leave during which an Employee is not paid; or
(c) an Employee is receiving paid Sick Leave, Workers' Compensation benefits, Short Term Disability, or Long Term Disability income.

(c) In addition to an alternate day off, an Employee who is obliged to work overtime on a Named Holiday shall be paid as follows:
(i) for all overtime hours worked on a Named Holiday two point five times (2.5X) their Basic Rate of Pay;
18.04 When a paid holiday Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time an Employee's ’s regularly scheduled day offof rest, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause 17.03 Article 18.03 above.

17.04 When a paid holiday Named Holiday falls on a day that would otherwise be a Regular Full-time an Employee's ’s regularly scheduled day offof rest, the Employee shall receive an alternate day off with pay as outlined in clause Article 17.03 above.
17.05 When a Named Holiday falls during a Regular Full-time an Employee's ’s annual vacation, such holiday may, by mutual agreement, be added to the vacation period, or the alternate day off shall be dealt with as per clause 17.03 above. No Employee is responsible for making arrangements for replacementsset out in Article 17.03.
(a) A Regular Part-time Employee required to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked at one point five times (l.5 X) their Basic Rate of Pay and at two times (2.0 X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Days.
(b) Each pay period, Regular Part-time Employees shall be paid five percent (5%) of their regular earnings paid at the Basic Rate of Pay, in lieu of Named Holidays as per clause 17.01.
17.07 An Employee shall not be entitled to payment for a Named Holiday or a day off in lieu thereof when the Employee is:
(a) on layoff;
(b) in receipt of Workers' Compensation benefits;
(c) on an unpaid leave of absence;
(d) on other leaves of absence in excess of thirty (30) days;
(e) receiving paid Sick Leave, Short Term Disability or Long Term Disability Benefits.
17.08 An Employee shall be so scheduled as to provide the Employee with days off on either Christmas or New Year's Day off unless otherwise requested by the Employee.

(2.0 Xb) An Employee obliged to work on Christmas Day or August Civic Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on the Named Holiday at 2X the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, plus:
(a) shall receive payment for such day their regularly scheduled Shift at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay; or
(b) an alternate day off at a mutually agreed time; or.
(c) by mutual agreementIn addition, an Employee who is obliged to work overtime on a day added to her next annual vacationNamed Holiday shall be paid as follows:
(i) For all overtime hours worked on a Named Holiday 2.5X their Basic Rate of Pay.
17.04 (ii) For all overtime hours worked on August Civic Holiday and Christmas Day 3X their Basic Rate of Pay.

17.02 To 25.02 Permanent Regular Employees will be granted one additional paid day off per year as a Float day. Employees shall submit their requests to the Employer via Dayforce and the scheduling of the Float day is subject to approval by the Employer.
25.03 In order to qualify for a Named Holiday with pay, the Employee must:

(e) any other leaves of absence in excess of thirty (30) days;

17.08 An Employee shall be so scheduled as to provide 25.05 If the Employee does not work on a Named Holiday, the Employer shall pay the Employee for that day at their Average Daily Wage.
25.06 If the Employee works on a Named Holiday, the Employer shall pay the Employee at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked on that day and their Average Daily Wage.
25.07 If a Named Holiday falls within an Employee’s annual vacation and the holiday is one to which the Employee would have been entitled if the Employee had not been on vacation, the Employer shall grant the employee with days an additional day off on either Christmas or New Year's Day off unless otherwise requested by with pay, which may be added to the Employee’s annual vacation.
(a) An Employee granted Christmas Day off in accordance with clause 17.08 shall be scheduled such that 25.08 When a Named Holiday falls on a regular Employee’s regularly schedule day off, the Employee will receive another day off with pay at a mutually agreeable time within thirty (30) days of that holiday or failing mutual agreement will be paid her basic rate of pay for her regularly scheduled hours.
25.09 All casual Employees shall have two receive Named Holiday pay at the rate of five (25%) consecutive days where they shall not be obligated to work percent of the Employees basic rate of pay, general holiday pay, and vacation pay earned in the four (i.4) weeks immediately preceding the Named Holiday.

16.02 A Full-Time Employee shall be paid for the above Named Holidays at the employee’s Basic Rate of Pay for ten (10) hours a day.
16.03 An Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on a Named Holiday at one point five times (1.5 X) the Basic Rate of Pay and named holiday at two times (2.0 X2X) the Basic Rate of Pay for the named holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, plus:
(a) payment for such day at the his Basic Rate of Pay; or
(b) an alternate . The day off with pay as provided in Article 16.01 shall be granted within thirty (30) days either prior to or after the holiday or at a such other time as may be mutually agreed time; or

17.08 An Employee 16.07 A Named Holiday for the purpose of this Collective Agreement is defined as commencing from zero zero zero one (0001) hours on such holiday and ending at twenty four hundred (2400) hours on the same day.
16.08 Crews required to work on Christmas Day shall be so scheduled as required to provide assemble at the station for a period of two hours to perform core duties. Articles 9.06 and 11.02 shall continue to apply.
16.09 To qualify for a Named Holiday with pay an Employee with days off on either Christmas or New Year's Day off unless otherwise requested by the Employee.must:
