Notice and Consultation with the Union. 11.3.1 The District shall notify the Union in writing of a layoff of a bargaining unit member. Whenever possible, such notice will be 75 days prior to the date of layoff but in no case shall the notice be less than 70 days prior to the date of layoff. But in all cases the notice must be given to the Union prior to any notification to the affected employee(s). The District shall notify the Union of the financial and program status of the District and of possible need to eliminate or reduce classified positions.
