Official Union Leave. An employee selected to represent the Union at conventions, conferences, collective bargaining, grievances and arbitration proceedings or other Union business, shall be granted a personal leave of absence (at no pay) based on the following employee classification and schedule: Chief Engineers: no more than ten (10) work days per contract year to carry out said business. All other Employees: no more than twenty-two (22) work days per contract year to carry out said business. Such leave shall require a thirty (30) day advance written notice to the Employer for Chief Engineers requesting such leave and fourteen (14) day advance written notice to the Employer for all other employees requesting leave. Any building with three (3) or less employees shall be exempt from this requirement. Only one (1) employee per building will be granted a personal leave of absence to represent the Union at any one time.

  • Local Union Leave Upon written request, leave of absence without pay shall be granted to employees for Union business in accordance with the following provisions:

  • Union Leave (a) Upon receiving a written request at least one (1) week in advance from the Union, the Company will grant leave of absence for not more than two (2) employees at any one time to attend Union conferences, conventions, or workshops, providing that the combined leaves of absence will not exceed forty (40) working days in any one (1) calendar year. Such leaves of absence will be without pay but with maintenance and accumulation of benefits (normal payroll deductions to apply).

  • Union Leaves Employees on Union Leaves will be treated as provided in Article 18 (Q) while working on Union leave.

  • Civil Leave Section 1. The Employer recognizes the responsibility of its employees to fulfill their civic duties as jurors and witnesses in court proceedings. The Employer agrees therefore to grant civil leave with pay to permanent employees:

  • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members. Although leaves for short terms without loss of pay may be granted upon approval by the Office of the Superintendent, the Federation shall reimburse the District for the cost of salaries and fringe benefits.

  • Blood Donation Leave Leave shall be granted to employees to donate blood at an onsite and Appointing Authority endorsed program.

  • Legal Leave 19.12.1The University shall grant leave of absence with pay to a member of faculty who is called to serve as a juror or a witness in a court of law in a matter in which he/she is not a party or an accused.

  • Political Leave Any employee who is a declared candidate for public office shall have the right to a leave of absence without pay for a reasonable period to campaign for the election. Such leave is subject to the conditions governing special leaves of absence without pay contained herein.

  • Mourner's Leave One (1) day's leave shall be granted without loss of pay or wages to attend a funeral as a pallbearer.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.
