OFFICIALS OF THE OFFICE. (1) Officials of the Office shall enjoy, within and with respect to the Republic of Austria, the following privileges and immunities: (a) immunity from jurisdiction in respect of words spoken or written and all acts performed by them in their official capacity; this immunity shall continue to apply even after the persons concerned have ceased to be officials of the Office; (b) immunity from the seizure of their personal and official baggage and immunity from inspection of official baggage, and, if the persons come within the scope of Article 15 and are neither Austrian citizens nor have their permanent residence in the Republic of Austria, immunity from inspection of personal baggage; (c) inviolability of all official documents, data and other material; (d) exemption from taxation in respect of the salaries, emoluments including allowances, remunerations, indemnities and pensions paid to them by the Organizations in connection with their service with it. This exemption shall extend also to assistance given to the families of officials of the Organizations; (e) exemption from any form of taxation on income derived by them and by members of their families forming part of their household from sources outside the Republic of Austria; (f) exemption from inheritance and gift taxes, except with respect to immovable property located in the Republic of Austria, insofar as the obligation to pay such taxes arise solely from the fact that officials of the Organizations or members of their families forming part of their household reside or maintain their usual domicile in the Republic of Austria; (g) exemption from immigration restrictions and from registration formalities for themselves and members of their families forming part of their household; (h) freedom to acquire or maintain within the Republic of Austria foreign securities, deposit and payment accounts in any currency, other movable property and, under the same conditions as Austrian nationals, immovable property, and upon termination of their employment with the Organizations, the right to transfer out of the Republic of Austria, without interference, their funds; these provisions shall not apply to amounts which are subject to the Austrian regulations concerning blocked accounts; (i) the right to import for personal use, free of duty and other charges, provided these are not simply charges for public utility services, and exempt from economic import prohibitions and restrictions on imports and exports: (i) ...

OFFICIALS OF THE OFFICE. 1. Officials of the office shall: (a) Be immune from legal process in respect of word spoken or written and all acts performed by them in their official capacity. Such immunity shall continue to be accorded after termination of employment with the Office. (b) Be immune from inspection and seizure of their official baggage; (c) Be exempt from taxation on the salaries and emoluments paid to them by the United Nations; (d) Be exempt from national service obligations; (e) Be exempt, together with their spouses and relatives dependent on them, from immigration restrictions and alien registration; (f) Be accorded the same privileges in respect of exchange facilities as are accorded to officials of comparable ranks forming part of diplomatic missions accredited to the Government; (g) Be given, together with their spouses and relatives dependent on them and other members of their household, the same repatriation facilities in time of international crisis as diplomatic envoys; (h) Have the right to import free of customs, duties and other charges their furniture, personal effects and all household appliances, at the time of first taking up their post in [insert country]. 2. Officials of the Office, except for those who are [insert country] nationals or permanent residents shall also be entitled to; (a) Import free of custom and excise duties limited quantities of certain articles intended for personal use or consumption and not for gift or sale; (b) Import a motor vehicle free of custom and excise duties, including value-added tax, in accordance with existing regulations of [insert country] applicable to members of diplomatic missions of comparable ranks. This right to import vehicle is renewable every three years. The old vehicle can be sold at the local market subject to payment via of all applicable duties and taxes. 3. In addition to the privileges and immunities specified above, the Chief of the Office, if he is not of [insert country] nationality, shall be accorded in respect of himself/herself, his/her spouse and dependent children, the privileges and immunities, exemptions and facilities normally accorded to the Heads of diplomatic missions.   • DIPLOMATIC AND CONSULAR OFFICIALS Nothing in this Convention shall affect the fiscal privileges of diplomatic or consular officials under the general rules of international law or under the provisions of special agreements.

  • Union Officials 1. The Union will notify the Company in writing of the election, appointment, or removal of Union shop xxxxxxx(s). The District Lodge will notify the Company in writing of the Committee members at that location. 2. The Company will provide the Union a reasonable amount of time as needed (not to exceed 2 hours) to participate in new-hire orientation for employees covered under this Agreement. 6. If requested by the Union and agreed to by the Company, Local Committeemen may be assigned to the Day Shift and to Saturday and Sunday as regular days off. In the event a significant dispute arises and remains unresolved it may be escalated to the level of AGC and HR at that station and, if not resolved, to the VP of Labor Relations and the President and Directing General Chairman.
