On-Call Duty Compensation. A. When warranted and in the interest of the County operation, the appointing authority or designee may assign employees to "on-call" status. B. On-call duty" is an assigned duty outside the normal work week assignment during which an employee must remain where he/she can be contacted by telephone and he/she is ready for immediate call-back to his/her department to perform an essential service. C. An employee assigned on-call duty shall be compensated at the rate of one dollar and sixty cents ($1.60) per hour for each hour of such duty. D. An employee shall not be placed on the list to be contacted for on-call duty if the employee is on approved sick leave.
