Optional Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance. This plan is available on an optional, employee-pay-all basis and enables you to purchase additional amounts of accidental death and dismemberment insurance on an employee and/or family plan basis. Critical Conditions Insurance will provide a lump sum payment to insured employees in the event he/she and/or dependents are afflicted, while coverage is in force, with a critical condition as defined in the policy.

The University pays 100 percent of the monthly premiums for the basic plan and the employee will pay the required premium for the optional long term disability program.

Covered members may, if they wish to buy additional Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance in units of $10,000 up top $250,000. Plan members may also extend this coverage to their families. An employee may wish to use this plan to upgrade the basic accidental death and dismemberment insurance.
