Extra Degree Allowance. For persons already receiving an extra degree allowance under predecessor board agreements, the allowance(s) will continue at the rate of $800 per year.
Extra Degree Allowance. There shall be an allowance for one recognized extra degree (Canadian or equivalent) payable January 1 or September 1 provided said degree has not been used for placement in a category. A recognized extra degree is one denoting post -graduate work and the allowances are as follows:
11.02.1 Master's Degree or equivalent $778
Extra Degree Allowance. An annual allowance will be paid as salary to teachers who hold a post graduate degree at the Master’s or Ph.D. level if the courses comprising the said degree have not been used for category placement in Article 10. Those teachers who are in receipt of an extra degree allowance for an additional Bachelor’s degree at the time of ratification will have that allowance grandparented.
Extra Degree Allowance i) An allowance of $800.00 shall be paid to all members of the Bargaining Unit who hold a post graduate degree at the Canadian Masters Level, or equivalent, or, an allowance of $1,200.00 will be paid to all members of the Bargaining Unit who hold a post graduate degree at the Canadian Doctoral Level, or equivalent, so long as these degrees, according to QECO evaluation, are not being used for grid placement. This allowance will have the effect of piercing the maxima of the salary grid for those members eligible to receive this allowance.
ii) A member claiming this allowance will be required to furnish proof to the satisfaction of the Board.
iii) Payment of the allowance will be made retroactive to September 1st or the first date of appointment provided satisfactory proof is submitted by January 31st inclusive or within five (5) months from the date of appointment should it be later than the beginning of the school year and provided that the member has completed the requirements for the extra degree prior to September 30th.
iv) In the event that a member fails to provide satisfactory proof by January 31st inclusive or within five (5) months of their date of appointment should it be later than the beginning of the school year, any salary adjustment resulting from such allowance will be effective the month following such verification.
Extra Degree Allowance. This allowance shall be paid for a post-graduate degree from an accredited University, not already used for placement on the salary grid and only if the degree was not already used to obtain a higher certification rating as per the Qualifications Evaluation Council of Ontario (Programme 5). Programme 5 placement, in the following amount: September 1, 2008 $ 670 September 1, 2009 $ 690 September 1, 2010 $ 711 September 1, 2011 $ 732 A post‐graduate degree shall be defined as a degree above the bachelor's level and shall include a master's degree and/or doctorate degree.
