Overload Payments. Wages for overload during the regular academic semester, whether it be for short session two-week courses, workshops, or expanded campus classes, shall be computed at the rate of two and one-half percent (2.5%) of the faculty member’s academic base salary per credit hour, or four hundred dollars per credit hour, whichever is greater. If travel is involved, the faculty member shall be provided compensation for travel time to and from the teaching assignment and for meals and lodging if necessary. If an off-campus class being offered is canceled by the University or a faculty member is replaced, the faculty shall receive payment for each class actually attended in relation to the number of class sessions scheduled.

(b) No full-time member shall be assigned overload duties in excess of the equivalent of one full course per academic year (May to April).
(c) No overload credit, in the form of payment or workload reduction, shall be banked in the name of the member for a period subsequent to that in which the overload occurs.
(d) When a member is assigned an overload, the member shall be paid at the rate of $8500 for a full course (six credits) and $4250 for a half course (three credits). Effective 1 July 2009, these rates shall change to $8700, $4350; 1 July 2010, $8900, $4450; 1 July 2011, $9100, 4550.
Overload Payments. (a) Hours taught beyond 18 credit hours during the Fall semester shall be paid during that semester.
(b) After the first complete week of courses in the Spring semester, the Faculty Member's workload will be assessed and a determination made as to whether or not credits (over 15 and up to 18) taught during the first semester should be paid on an overload basis. If a person is so entitled, the Faculty Member shall have a lump-sum payment made in the second full pay period in February. (This section does not apply to credits paid on an overload basis in the Fall semester.)
Overload Payments. Overload shall be paid as follows:
a. A full-time unit member assigned a temporary overload contract shall be paid for the overload during the semester in which the work is performed, beginning with the first pay period of the semester following the start of the overload assignment. Payment will be made in five (5) equal payments in the semester for a semester-long overload assignment, or as indicated on the overload contract.
b. Department Chairs, UPM and Academic Senate representatives assigned duties during June and July shall be paid in six (6) equal payments beginning in July and January provided their term of office has not expired.
c. If an overload assignment is cancelled before unit members perform service for which they have been paid, the unit members shall reimburse the District the amount of overpayment through a pro-rated salary reduction distributed evenly over the remaining pay periods of their contract.
