Paramedic Recertification Clause Samples

The Paramedic Recertification clause outlines the requirements and procedures for paramedics to maintain their certification status. Typically, this involves completing a set number of continuing education hours, passing relevant assessments, and submitting documentation to the certifying authority within a specified timeframe. By establishing clear standards and timelines for recertification, this clause ensures that paramedics remain up-to-date with current medical practices and are legally authorized to perform their duties, thereby safeguarding public health and professional competency.
Paramedic Recertification. Firefighter/Paramedics will be compensated $412.50 annually to recertify their paramedic license. As an incentive to maintain paramedic skills and recertification, paramedic-certified Fire Engineers and Captains will also receive the annual recertification payment of $412.50. New employees assigned as paramedics will receive their first incentive at the completion of probation and annually thereafter in July following that date.
Paramedic Recertification. Scheduled Overtime for Paramedic Recertification will be paid at One and One Half (1 1/2) times the Employee’s hourly rate for a minimum of four (4) hours and be considered voluntary.

The employee has the responsibility of attending all required certification courses and paying the required fees. There will not be any compensation for attending certification courses during non-work times except for the pay specified above. This benefit applies once every two (2) years.
Paramedic Recertification. Certified paramedics shall be allowed up to 50 hours of overtime to attend approved ALS CME per calendar year. Attendance of CME while on-duty shall be deducted from the 50 hours. The Medical Program Director or his designee shall establish the list of required classes and their availability. It is the responsibility of each Employee to maintain proper paramedic credentials as a condition of employment. These classes include, but are not limited to: ACLS, PHTLS, and either PEPPS or PALS, OTEP and Run Review. Paramedics shall be allowed twelve hours of overtime each year in their initial certification period (1st three years of certification) for intubations and one hour per intubation as required by law in each subsequent year (4).
Paramedic Recertification. All Fire District No.1 career personnel must be certified NYS Paramedics at the time of appointment and maintain certification as a condition of employment. Niskayuna Fire District No.1 provides a $3,200 per year stipend to every Firefighter. This stipend is in lieu of hourly overtime pay for the classes and testing required by New York State and REMO to maintain Paramedic Certification. Should a Paramedic fail to recertify, two consecutive recertification courses will be allowed following expiration of current certification. Additional courses may be granted at the discretion of the Board of Fire Commissioners. New York State requires re-certification every three years.
