Catastrophic Leave Donation. 1. Participating donors shall donate a minimum of one (1) day of accumulated sick leave.
2. Participating donors must have a minimum of ten (10) days of accumulated sick leave after donation.
3. Donations of sick leave shall not affect a donating bargaining unit member’s eligibility for the Attendance Incentive per Article 10.7.
4. In coordination with Article 7.3, if a substitute is not utilized and the unit member using catastrophic leave is in a fully paid status, no days shall be charged to the donating bargaining unit members.
Catastrophic Leave Donation. Provides for the transfer of vacation leave, compensatory time, or holiday leave time from an employee to an employee with a serious or catastrophic illness who has exhausted all leave balances, subject to a maximum credit of 520 hours. The City Administrator may authorize in special circumstances receipt of total leave credits up to 1,040 hours of recipient’s sick leave. Donated leave will be changed to its cash value at the donor’s base rate of pay. This policy is described in a City of Lompoc Personnel Procedure.
Catastrophic Leave Donation. Circumstances may arise where an employee or the employee's immediate family may suffer an unforeseen event, which may have a catastrophic effect on the employee and/or the employee's family. Under such a circumstance the employee may request leave donation from fellow employees under the following procedures:

In order to assist employees otherwise granted leave of absence without pay by the City Manager because of catastrophic non-industrial medical condition or injury, the City and Association agree to implement a Catastrophic Leave Donation procedure. Nothing herein shall be construed to alter City policies and procedures as provided in the Charter or ordinances of the City of Santa Xxx or other provisions of this MOU with regard to granting unpaid leaves of absence.

The purpose of this plan is to permit an employee, when they or a member of their family has a catastrophic illness or non-work related injury, to solicit individual donations of sick leave from fellow employees, or to request the u s e of catastrophic leave from the Leave Bank. The intent is:
a. To ensure that the employee continues to receive medical benefits during the catastrophic illness or non-work related injury period, and
b. To enable the employee to continue receiving their regular salary. Catastrophic leave is not intended to replace other options available to an employee or dependent whose illness or non- work related injury continues after a year of such leave, except in limited circumstances, as pre-approved under this plan.

Catastrophic Leave Donation. 10 Employees may donate accrued vacation, compensatory or sick leave 11 time to a County Office of Education employee who qualifies to 12 receive donations as a result of an extended absence.
Catastrophic Leave Donation. With prior approval of the CEO, employees may donate accumulated paid leave to another employee who has exhausted his/her paid leave balances due to catastrophic illness. For each hour of sick leave that an employee donates, the employee must also donate one hour of vacation leave. The value of donated paid leave shall be divided by the current hourly rate of the employee to whom leave is donated to determine the number of days and hours of additional leave due the employee. Catastrophic as used in this section means: Illnesses consistent with a medical emergency as defined by the I.R.S., Examples includes a life-threatening, long-term, or gravely serious illness or medical condition, including but not limited to cancer, full- blown AIDS/HIV, leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease and similar conditions. “Catastrophic” does not mean routine, albeit serious, conditions for which full recovery is likely or expected. “Catastrophic” would not include conditions such as flu, broken bones, pregnancy or related medical conditions.
