PARENT CONFERENCES AND OBSERVATIONS. Although cooperation and communication between parents and Unit Members is an important facet of teaching and shall be encouraged at all levels, the normal discharge of a Unit Member's daily responsibilities must be protected. The Unit Member and the administrator will select a conference or observation time that is mutually agreeable to parents and Unit Member. If a mutually agreeable time cannot be found, the administrator will offer at least two (2) conference or observation times. The Unit Member will select from the presented options.

Therefore, teachers shall be consulted as to a time and place for parent conferences or classroom observations by parents. The administration will assist the teacher in the enforcement of the above guidelines.

Therefore, employees shall have the right to establish a time and place convenient to them and the parents for parent conferences or classroom Loveland Master Contract July 1, 2016 - June 30, 2019 observations requested by parents. The administration will assist the bargaining unit member and parent in these matters. Nothing in this article shall permit the employee to refuse to schedule a conference or observation requested by a parent nor does this apply to regularly scheduled Parent/Teacher Conference days.

Therefore, any parent conferences or classroom observations by parents will be scheduled in cooperation with the teacher. If anyone misses parent/teacher conferences for any reason other than sick leave of more than one (1) day, or an assignment by the principal to other school related activities, then the teacher agrees to make up the missed conference time with the affected parent(s) at a mutually agreeable time outside the regular teacher workday within the next three (3) school weeks. The make up time shall be equal to the missed conference period and shall be documented in writing by the teacher and signed off on by the building principal.
