Conference Days. Conference Days may be used for attendance at conferences, workshops, seminars, or training sessions that are related to a Member’s job duties and responsibilities.
Conference Days. Two parent-teacher conferences, one each semester, will be held during the school year. Evening times will receive equal duty day compensation time. Parent-teacher conference schedules will be approved by the appropriate building administrator. Parent-teacher conferences are student contact days.

The Board will establish days with pay per year for the Association to use for annual conferences, based on 4.5% of the OCEA Education Support Professional membership on June 1 of each year. Any fraction will be rounded up to the next whole number. Withdrawal of days shall be by notification from the Association President to the Superintendent or his designated representative at least five (5) working days (except in cases of emergency) in advance of the leave. The Association shall provide at least fifteen (15) working days’ notice when submitting a request for the release of three (3) or more employees from a single site or more than ten (10) district- wide. Notification shall include the names of the employees to be granted leave and the conference being attended. Except in cases of emergency, no substitutions may be made later than five (5) working days prior to the effective date of leave. Each employee for whom leave is to be granted shall apply to his/her respective principal in accordance with the same five (5) working day time limit.
Conference Days. The Union is granted thirty-five (35) conference days which may be used by such member or members of the bargaining unit as the Union President, in their sole discretion, shall determine. The Union shall reimburse the Board of Education for retirement costs as per State Retirement Board Regulations, to be billed annually.

2.10.2. If the Union President is from the secondary level, they shall be assigned) three (3) teaching periods and one (1) preparation assignment. They shall be released for two (2) teaching periods exclusive of lunch. If the President is from the elementary level, they shall be assigned .67 and shall be released .33 exclusive of lunch.
2.10.3. The Union Treasurer shall be released one (1) day per month from September to June. The Union shall reimburse the district for the daily salary of the substitute teacher assigned to teach the Treasurer's classes.
Conference Days. Each employee shall be approved by their supervisor for up to two (2) conference days per contract year to attend conferences or conventions. Additional days may be authorized by their immediate supervisor. If the immediate supervisor denies a request made by the employee to attend a conference, rationale must be provided. Denial of approval for any conference may be appealed to the Superintendent. These shall be confined to the State of Michigan, unless otherwise approved by the Superintendent. If out of district travel requires an overnight stay, the employee shall contact the business office for hotel arrangements (generally not to exceed $175 per room). Conference attendance required by the immediate supervisor, shall not be counted as conference days for the purposes of this Section. Employees registered to attend a conference on a day when their work site is closed for reasons other than hazardous travel conditions (ex: power outage, illness, etc.) are expected to attend the conference as scheduled. Employees registered to attend a conference on a day when their work site is closed due to hazardous travel conditions, shall use their own discretion in determining whether it is safe to attend the scheduled conference. This will be considered a work day and is not subject to additional pay or compensation.

Conference Days. All Bargaining Unit Members will attend conferences called by the Superintendent and by the State Education Department which are designed for participation of all instructional unit personnel. Absences will be reported in the usual manner.
Conference Days. 22 Conference days may be scheduled by the SBDM Council (or by majority vote of certified 23 staff in non-SBDM schools) on days designated as professional (P) days in the calendar. All 24 such days shall follow state and contract guidelines. Conferencing hours may be set to meet 25 parent convenience. Conferences can be teacher or parent initiated.
