Participation in Union Activities. Subject to patient care and staffing needs, an employee may be granted an unpaid leave of up to 12 (twelve) weeks to assume a position with the Union and the employee shall be entitled to return to their former position. On a leave of absence exceeding 12 (twelve) weeks, the employee would be entitled to the first available position for which the employee is qualified in order of seniority to other employees with return to work rights. This leave may not exceed 12 (twelve) months.
Participation in Union Activities. The Employer will advise all newly hired employees, at the time of their employment, that the Union is their bargaining representative. The Employer and the Union recognize the right of any employee to become and remain a member of the Union or to refrain from becoming and/or remaining a member of the Union, and neither party will interfere with any employee in the exercise of that right.
