Personal Business. Teachers shall be entitled to the following leaves of absence with each school year: a. Three (3) days of absence for personal business may be granted with no loss of pay, two (2) days allowed by Indiana State Statute, and one (1) day allowed by the Board. The three (3) days shall be accumulative in sick leave if unused. Application for all personal business leave shall be made at least twenty-four (24) hours before taking such leave (except in case of emergencies) and the applicant will not be required to state the reason for taking such leave. The Employer shall honor all requests regardless of reasons. Personal business leave days should not be used for the purpose of extending vacations. a. Days in excess of personal leave days may be granted to observe religious holidays. b. Additional leave without pay may be granted by the Superintendent.
