Professional Contracts. All members are responsible for maintaining appropriate credentials to fulfill contractual responsibilities prior to the start of the contractual year. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary actions and/or separation of employment from Miamisburg City Schools. Wages shall reflect appropriate credentials. After September 1, 2007, all members should keep current all certificates/licenses. Failure to do so will void rights under Article XII B.

Nine-month contracts — The employment contract for each academic year shall include 172 working days of fall and spring semester employment within the instructor's program date requirements. Non-contract days shall be determined by the academic calendar upon approval by the College Board of Trustees. Programs with instructors who provide instruction for additional working days will be paid at their per diem rate for each additional day of service if their additional days do not number enough to reach the next contract level. 2. Ten-month, Eleven-month and Twelve-month contracts — The employment contracts for each academic year shall include 191 working days for ten-month, 210 working days for eleven- month, and 229 working days for twelve-month, depending upon the instructional requirements needed to complete the instructional programs. Non-contract days shall be determined by the academic calendar upon approval by the College Board of Trustees.

Professional Contracts. Two (2) contracts shall be issued to each professional employee for signatures. One (1) copy shall be returned to the District and signed by the Secretary of the Board. One (1) additional copy shall then be made and returned to the employee. Annually all returning professional staff members will be issued a contract for professional services. This professional contract is for 180 days. New staff members will be provided one (1) additional mandatory day paid at per diem. Extended Day Compensation: When professional services are required beyond the regular school year the District will determine the need based on program requirements, administrative need and budgetary restraints. Supplemental contracts for these services will be established by the end of the school year if funding is known at such time. These contracted amounts will be computed at 1/180 of the person's professional contract. The District will dedicate a sum of money equal to one day per diem per FTE to compensate employees for the completion of District approved special projects such as curriculum committees. These projects are not intended to be classroom-related activities, but school wide or school District emphasis. Projects must be approved in advance by the employee's principal. Compensation for approved projects will be based on the estimated time for project completion as determined by the employee and administrator. Each employee shall be provided the opportunity to earn up to his or her FTE per diem by April 15th. After April 15th, unused money will be pooled and made available to those staff members desiring additional project work not to exceed a second FTE per diem day. Compensation will be disbursed when one day has been accrued, if a full day is not accrued, compensation will be paid on June 30th. This dedicated amount may be discontinued if funds are not available due to legislative reductions or levy loss.
