Common use of Public Office Leave Clause in Contracts

Public Office Leave. Upon written request at least six (6) Weeks in advance, an Employee who is elected or appointed to a full time position with the Union or any body with which the Union is affiliated, or who is elected or appointed to public office, shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for the term of the office for a period up to two (2) years subject to renewal on application to the Employer for successive two (2) year periods. An Employee granted such a leave of absence shall give the Employer sixty (60) Days written notice of intention to return.

Public Office Leave.
