Re: Racial Justice Advocate. In recognition of societal racism, the company agrees to recognize a racial justice advocate covered by the collective agreement. A Racial Justice Advocate will be an individual who identifies as a member of the Black, Indigenous or racialized community. The Local Union President will be responsible for the selection of the facility Racial Justice Advocate. A Racial Justice Advocate is a workplace representative who will assist and provide support for Black, Indigenous and racialized people and concerns such as racial discrimination and racial violence. The role of the Racial Justice Advocate in the workplace will include to: • Listen • Provide support to Black, Indigenous and racialized members • Assist with racial justice initiatives • Promote access to community culturally appropriate services • Network with coalition partners Where the Hospital is seeking Unifor staff membership on a DEI related committee, it is understood that the Unifor Racial Justice Advocate will participate. For clarity, this does not preclude other Unifor members from also participating in applicable committees but it is understood that the Unifor Racial Justice Advocate will sit on the committee. Should the Racial Justice Advocate require time off the job in order to fulfill their duties, the union will review the request and, if in agreement, will submit a leave of absence request prior to the requested leave for approval by the human resources department. Re: Racial Justice Advocate. The parties are committed to promoting workplace diversity and inclusion, including but not limited to persons who identify as members of the Black, Indigenous, or racialized community. The Union will identify an advocate to be included within their current complement of Union Representatives to address issues facing the Black, Indigenous, or racialized community. The advocate will provide support for the employees at the workplace and assist with concerns such as racial discrimination and/or racial violence. The Employer will recognize an employee who is elected by the Union as an advocate and should this representative require unpaid time off, such requests for time off shall not be unreasonably denied.

  • Public Hearings If public hearings on the scope of work are held during the period of the Agreement, Contractor will make available to testify the personnel assigned to this Agreement. The Energy Commission will reimburse Contractor for compensation and travel of the personnel at the Agreement rates for the testimony which the Energy Commission requests.

  • Social Justice Fund 49.01 The Employer shall contribute one cent (1¢) per hour worked to the PSAC Social Justice Fund and such contribution will be made for all hours worked by each employee in the Bargaining Unit. Contributions to the Fund will be made quarterly, in the middle of the month immediately following completion of each fiscal quarter year, and such contributions remitted to the PSAC National Office. Contributions to the Fund are to be utilized strictly for the purposes specified in the Letters Patent of the PSAC Social Justice Fund.

  • Access to the Courts of Justice Each Contracting Party shall in its Area accord to investors of the other Contracting Party treatment no less favourable than the treatment which it accords in like circumstances to its own investors or investors of a non- Contracting Party with respect to access to the courts of justice and administrative tribunals and agencies in all degrees of jurisdiction, both in pursuit and in defence of such investors’ rights.
