Paid Personal Days. Effective January 1, 2008, all Regular employees will receive one (1) paid personal day per year. (Increased to two (2) paid personal days per year effective January 1, 2009). These days must be used within the year, cannot carry forward from one year to the next, and cannot be paid out in lieu of. Paid personal days will not be unreasonably denied.

Paid Personal Days. .1 Employees hired before July 1st, 2020 with ten (10) years of seniority are entitled to five (5) paid personal days per year. Employees will receive their five paid personal days on their employment anniversary date. .2 Employees hired after July 1st, 2020 with ten (10) years of seniority are entitled to a pro-rated amount of paid personal days for their first year of employment ending the following March 31st. Employees will receive their pro-rated paid personal days on their 10 year employment anniversary date. .3 Subsequent PPD allotments will be granted on the April 1st following the anniversary date of hire. .4 Paid personal days are cumulative and are not lost on the employee’s employment anniversary date. .5 Paid personal days are to be requested using the appropriate channels and are authorized by the employee’s leader. .6 Authorization and 24 hours’ notice must be given before paid personal days can be taken. .7 There is no requirement to take paid personal days before using vacation time. .8 Paid personal days must be taken in minimum 1-hour increments. .9 Two additional paid personal days will be added on the April 1st following the 15th anniversary of date of hire. .10 One additional paid personal day will be added on the April 1st following the 25th anniversary of date of hire. .11 One additional paid personal day will be added on the April 1st following the 30th anniversary of date of hire. .12 One additional paid personal day will be added on the April 1st following the 35th anniversary of date of hire.

Paid Personal Days. 35.01 Employees who have completed their probationary period will be granted five (5) Personal Leave days without loss of regular pay and benefits each calendar year at a time mutually agreeable to the Employee and the Employer. Requests for Personal Leave will be considered upon the provision of a minimum three (3) days written notice using such forms as the Employer may prescribe. In extenuating circumstances, a Personal Leave Day (sick day) may be granted by the Employer on the same day that it is requested. The Personal Leave Day (sick day) must be scheduled in increments of one (1) full day upon approval by the Employer. The Personal Leave days shall be taken in the calendar year in which they are granted. Approval for requests of Personal Leave days shall not be unreasonably withheld. Any unused sick days as of December 31st will be paid out or transferred into the RRSP. 35.02 For the purposes of this Article, the entitlement to the full complement of Personal Leave Days assumes active employment during the full calendar year. Employees with less than a full year of active employment shall be granted one (1) Personal Leave Day for every two full months of active employment up to the maximum entitlement as prescribed herein.
Paid Personal Days. 24:01 The Company will pay employees at their regular day rate for up to five and a half (5 1/2) days per year for time lost for sickness, etc. It may be split between any combination of three (3) full days and four (4 1/2) half days or five (5 1/2) days. Paid Personal Days. After one (1) year of employment, each full time Employee shall be entitled to two (2) paid personal days per calendar year. Eligible Employees will receive seven and one half (7 ½) hours pay for each paid personal day taken. Paid personal days may not be carried over to the next year, nor will Employees receive pay in lieu of personal days not taken. Paid personal days may be taken for any reason with thirty (30) days advance written notice to the Company. Paid personal days may also be used to cover the two-day waiting period under the Sick Leave policy described in this Agreement.

In situations involving unanticipated emergencies resulting in the employee not being able to give the one (1) week notice, the employee will give as much advance notice as is possible. No more than one (1) employee per department will be permitted to take a personal day on the same day, except that the Production and Maintenance Departments will permit two (2) employees to take a personal day on the same day, per each Department. Based upon production requirements management may permit additional employees to take personal days. In a case of conflict concerning the number of employees desiring to take a Personal Day on the same day, the employee who submitted a request first to the Employer will be granted the Personal Day. In cases where the requests were submitted on the same day, the seniority of the employees shall determine which employee shall receive the Personal Day on the requested day in question.
Paid Personal Days. Beginning with the 2008-09 school year, all members shall receive two (2) paid personal days per semester, which may be used at the employee’s discretion. Written application to the building principal shall be made at least two (2) days in advance except in the case of emergencies. Paid personal holidays days are non-cumulative, are not transferable to the employee’s sick bank, and cannot be rolled over to subsequent semesters or school years. Unused days will be paid at the employeesper diem rate in the first regular pay cycle following the pay cycle in which the last day of the semester falls.
