RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL LEAVE. 41.1 The YMCA values the culturally diverse nature of its Employees and is aware of differing needs of staff members in regard to their religious, cultural and ceremonial beliefs and obligations.

RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL LEAVE. The Employer recognizes that the Employee is entitled to unpaid leave to observe their spiritual, cultural and holy practices. Employees shall provide written notice to their Supervisor at least ten (10) days in advance of the absence and in the notice ensure that information as to the nature of the spiritual, cultural or holy practice is provided so that the Employer can ensure the request requires accommodation. The Supervisor shall make every reasonable effort, given the operational requirements, not to disadvantage the Employee as a result of taking the unpaid leave.

  • Cultural Leave Where such leave is approved by the employer, teachers participating in recognised cultural activities within New Zealand or outside New Zealand are entitled to leave with pay on the same conditions as for sports leave.

  • Religious Leave Religious leave shall be without pay unless the employee elects to use accumulated compensatory time off, vacation time, or floating holiday time. Denial of religious leave is appealable as provided elsewhere in this section.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part- time employees who are elected to or appointed to the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario subject to the following limitations:

  • Family Medical Leave (a) An employee is entitled to family medical leave in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act.
