– Representation/Recognition. The District recognizes the Union as the sole and exclusive collective bargaining agent for all full-time and regular part-time classified employees of the Kalama School District, excluding supervisors, confidential employees, clerical employees, bus drivers and extracurricular employees and will deal with its representatives with respect to wages, hours, working conditions, and all other pertinent matters. The bargaining unit shall also include the classifications of ticket taker and facilities supervisor, provided that the only provisions of this Agreement which shall apply to such classifications are the wage rate in Appendix A and those sections which specifically identify those classifications.

Upon reference to arbitration, the Negotiating Committee members shall receive unpaid time off with no loss of credits or benefits for the purpose of attending Arbitration Hearings. The Union shall advise the Employer, in writing, the names of its committee. The Employer shall not be obliged to recognize committee members until such time as written notice has been received. The Area Representative may attend meetings at the invitation of the local Union. A representative from may assist in negotiations.
