Computation of Seniority For the purpose of calculating the length of service of a regular full- time employee, one year will be credited for each year of service beginning on the employee’s initial date of hire as a regular full-time employee. For the purpose of calculating length of service of a regular part- time employee, one year of service will be credited for every 2080 hours of paid work and paid leave. In the event a regular part-time employee is appointed to a position as a regular full-time employee, the seniority accrued as a part-time employee will be added to the seniority as a full-time employee.
Termination of Contractor’s Responsibilities This Agreement will be considered complete when all work has been completed and accepted by the COUNTY and all warranty periods have expired. The CONTRACTOR will then be released from further obligation except as set forth in this Agreement.
Unpaid Leave - Affecting Seniority and Benefits Any employee granted unpaid leave of absence totalling up to twenty (20) working days in any year shall continue to accumulate seniority and all benefits and shall return to her/his former job and increment step. If an unpaid leave of absence or an accumulation of unpaid leaves of absence exceeds twenty (20) working days in any year, the employee shall not accumulate benefits from the twenty-first (21st) day of the unpaid leave to the last day of the unpaid leave but shall accumulate benefits and receive credit for previously earned benefits upon expiration of the unpaid leave.
Role of Seniority A reduction in force shall be based on seniority within a department, discipline or specialty, provided that the senior staff have appropriate qualifications and are providing satisfactory service. Whenever possible, an employee shall be given an opportunity to serve the College in some other capacity for which he/she is qualified. This clause applies to all employees, including those on leave at time of reduction of staff.
