SCHOOL-RELATED INJURIES. This provision shall apply provided that the teacher acted professionally and with appropriate precautions. Subd. 1. A teacher, who is injured in the course of carrying out duties and responsibilities as an employee of the Board, shall be granted leave without loss of pay for a period not to exceed five (5) days when the injury is a result of an assault. In no case shall the combined benefits paid to the teacher from Workers’ Compensation and the use of this leave exceed the teacher’s regularly scheduled salary for the period of leave used. Subd. 2. In the event that injury caused by assault in the course of carrying out duties and responsibilities as an employee of the Board results in incapacitation for performance of duties for a period longer than that provided in Subd. 1 of this section, the teacher may then choose to use his or her accumulated sick leave. In no case shall the combined benefits paid to the teacher from Workers’ Compensation and the use of either type of sick leave described herein exceed the teacher’s regularly scheduled salary for the period of incapacitation.

SCHOOL-RELATED INJURIES. A principal who is injured in the course of carrying out duties and responsibilities as an employee of the Board shall be granted leave without loss of pay for a period not to exceed five (5) days. If such injury is the result of assault, leave without loss of pay shall be granted for a period not to exceed ten (10) days. Such leave granted shall not be deducted from the principal’s accumulated sick leave. This provision shall apply provided that the principal acted professionally and with appropriate precautions.
SCHOOL-RELATED INJURIESA teacher, who is injured in the course of carrying out his/her duties and responsibilities for the Board, whether on school property or not, shall be granted a leave without loss of pay, benefits or accumulated sick leave of up to sixty (60) days. In situations where injury is not immediately debilitating and the teacher returns to work immediately’ but within three (3) consecutive days following the injury, becomes debilitated and requires additional medical/surgical treatment, the school related injury leave may commence at that point. Nothing in this provision shall prevent the teacher from applying for special consideration in accordance with Article 12, H, (5). Any teacher, who is injured while on duty and who receives leave under this provision, shall apply for Worker's Compensation, and when payment therefrom is received, shall sign over such payment to the Board.
SCHOOL-RELATED INJURIES. An administrator who is injured in the course of carrying out duties and responsibilities, as an employee of the School District shall be granted leave without loss of pay for a period not to exceed five (5) days. If such an injury is the result of assault, leave without loss of pay shall be granted for a period not to exceed ten (10) days. Leave granted due to injury as a result of assault shall not be deducted from the administrator's accumulated sick leave.

Appropriate medical documentation will be required to document the injury and need for leave. In no case shall the combined benefits paid to the teacher from Worker’s Compensation and the use of this leave exceed the teacher’s regularly scheduled salary for the period of leave used.
