Basic Day. The basic teacher's day, inclusive of lunch, shall be eight (8) hours.
Basic Day. The teacher’s basic day, inclusive of a duty free lunch, shall consist of an average of 8 hours per day. In addition to the basic school day, teachers may be required to participate in a reasonable amount of school activities beyond the teacher's basic day relating to teaching and activities as is required by the District.
Basic Day. Eight (8) hours or less shall constitute a day's work.
Basic Day. The basic teacher’s day will be seven (7) hours and twenty-five (25) minutes, one-half hour of which shall be a duty-free lunch period. Teachers must be in the building a minimum of twenty (20) minutes before the student day begins. The duty day will be determined by the District prior to April 1 of the preceding school year and scheduled within a range of hours from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30
Basic Day. The basic teacher’s day, inclusive of a 30 minute “duty free” lunch, shall be eight hours. Part-time teachers shall have responsibilities in proportion to their contracts: e.g., a teacher with a 3/5 contract is responsible for up to 24 hours of service per week. Part-time teachers working half-time or more will receive a 30 minute duty free lunch period. All part-time teachers will receive pro-rated prep time and non-instruction time within their duty time calculation.
Basic Day. The teacher’s basic day shall be a minimum of eight hours with a duty free lunch, with the exception that teachers may leave work on the last day of each week after the school buses have departed from their building. If the last day of the week is a student early release day or a non- student contact day then the specific hours for each building will be designated by the School District as per Section 14.2 Building Hours of this agreement. A full time teacher's average daily instructional assignment includes 300 minutes, excluding student passing time before, during and after the regularly scheduled school day. In addition, a full time elementary teacher will receive 60 minutes average daily preparation time and a full time middle school and/or high school teacher will receive 50 minutes average daily preparation time, during student contact time.
Basic Day. 6.1 The following shall constitute the basic day:
(a) in passenger service, one hundred and fifty (150) miles or less (straight-away or turnaround); and
(b) in freight service, 100 miles or less, 8 hours or less (straight-away or turnaround).
6.2 Miles earned in excess of the basic day shall be paid for at the applicable rates provided for the class of service in which engaged (Articles 1 and 2, Rates of Pay, Road Service).
6.3 In all classes of service, time for employees will commence at the time they are required to report for duty and shall continue until completion of such tour of duty. Management will designate the time for reporting for duty.
6.4 Employees in unassigned freight service may be called to make short trips or for turnaround service (with the understanding that one or more turnaround trips may be started out of the same terminal) and paid actual miles, with a minimum of 100 miles for a day, provided:
(a) that the cumulative road mileage of all trips does not exceed 120 miles,
(b) that the distance run from the terminal to the turning point does not exceed 30 miles, and
(c) that employees will not be required to commence a succeeding trip out of the initial terminal after having been on duty 8 consecutive hours except as a new tour of duty, subject to Article 30 and at their own option. If employees subsequently accept a call and elect to leave the terminal on a succeeding trip in accordance with the foregoing, they must accept all the conditions attached to such new tour of duty, including the time-on-duty requirement of 11 hours before rest can be taken.
Basic Day. The teacher’s basic day, inclusive of lunch, shall be 8 hours. Exceptions to the 8-hour day will be made on a case-by-case basis with the mutual agreement of the teacher, the School District, and the Association. Teachers are expected to attend scheduled school and department professional meetings which may extend 1 hour beyond the school contract day. Teachers are officially available to see students and parents within these working hours. All teachers will have a duty free lunch. Teachers may use flex time prior to the start of or after the student day, provided the teacher has obtained prior approval from the building principal and makes up the time.
