The road mainly consists of gravel surface. For steep sections, the surface will be concrete. The terrain is considered rugged with boulders. The road has slopes ranging from 1% to 16% as can be seen in the longitudinal sections depicted in drawings J38205-LS 1-3 to 3-3. Storm water pipes will be constructed where storm water crosses the access road. Concrete side drains will be constructed as well. The construction of the road will consist of cutting and filling as per the design. It is foreseen that Hard Rock excavation will take place. Compaction tests will be required as well as concrete strength tests. All compacted layers not to exceed 150mm thickness.
