Selection of Fee. Any employee covered by this Agreement shall be required to choose from the options of membership in MSEA-SEIU or payment to MSEA-SEIU of a service fee equal to their pro-rata share of the costs to MSEA-SEIU that are germane to collective bargaining and contract administration as defined by law. Within thirty (30) days after the first six (6) months of the beginning of each employee’s employment, the State will (1) deduct membership dues from the pay of any employee who chooses the option of membership in MSEA-SEIU by signing a written payroll deduction authorization form authorizing deduction from their pay of the membership dues, or (2) automatically deduct the service fee from the pay of any other employee, unless the employee is a religious objector as provided under Section 6.

Selection of Fee. Any employee who begins employment with the Judicial Branch on or after July 2, 2003 and is covered by this Agreement and is not a member of MSEA-SEIU shall, as a condition of employment, within thirty days after such conditions are met, be required to choose from the options of membership in MSEA-SEIU or payment to MSEA-SEIU of a service fee equal to their pro-rata share of the costs to MSEA- SEIU that are germane to collective bargaining and contract administration as defined by law.
