Special Adoption Leave. An Employee who is seeking to adopt a child is entitled to up to 2 days unpaid leave if the Employee requires that leave to attend compulsory interviews or examinations as part of the adoption procedure.
Special Adoption Leave. F.4.10.1 An employee who has received approval to adopt a child who is overseas is entitled to such unpaid leave as is reasonably required by the employee to obtain custody of the child.
F.4.10.2 An employee who is seeking to adopt a child is entitled to such unpaid leave not exceeding five days as is required by the employee to attend such interviews, workshops, court attendances or examinations as are necessary as part of the adoption procedure.
F.4.10.3 The leave under this clause is to be known as special adoption leave and does not affect any entitlement under clause F.5.3.

F.4.10.5 Where paid leave is available to the employee, the employer may require the employee to take such leave instead of a special adoption leave.
Special Adoption Leave. (a) This clause applies if an employee is seeking to obtain approval to adopt an eligible child.
(b) The employee is entitled to a period of up to 2 days unpaid leave (special adoption leave) to attend any interviews or examinations required to obtain the approval.
(c) However, the employee is not entitled to take a period of pre-adoption leave if:
(i) the employee could take other authorised leave instead for the same period; and
(ii) the employer directs the employee to take such leave for the period.
(d) An employee who is entitled to a period of pre-adoption leave is entitled to take the leave as:
(i) a single, unbroken, period of up to 2 days; or
(ii) any separate periods to which the employee and the employer agree.
Special Adoption Leave. 8.8.10.1 An employee who has received approval to adopt a child who is overseas is entitled to such unpaid leave as is reasonably required by the employee to obtain custody of the child.
8.8.10.2 An employee who is seeking to adopt a child is entitled to such unpaid leave not exceeding 5 days as is required by the employee to attend such interviews, workshops, court attendances or examinations as are necessary as part of the adoption procedure.

Special Adoption Leave. An Employee shall be entitled to special adoption leave (without pay) for up to 2 days to attend interviews or examinations for the purposes of adoption. Special adoption leave may be taken as a charge against annual leave, extended leave, flexitime (if applicable) or family and community service leave.
