An employee who is seeking to adopt a child is entitled to such unpaid leave not exceeding five (5) days as is required to attend interviews, workshops, court attendances or examinations as part of the adoption procedure. The leave under this clause is to be known as special adoption leave and does not affect any entitlement under this clause. Special adoption leave may be taken concurrently by an employee and their spouse. Where paid leave is available, Xxxxxxx may require the employee to take such leave instead of special adoption leave.
