St Xxxxxxx University. The University of St Xxxxxxx is redeveloping the Guardbridge paper mill site to bring new investment in renewable and sustainable technologies, new industry to Fife and new employment in the Fife village and outlying communities in the North East of Fife.‌ Fife College and St Xxxxxxx University are working together to develop an innovative industry focussed STEM training centre to prepare senior phase pupils with vocationally relevant skills and the opportunity for employers to co-invest in the composition of their future workforce. Basing the STEM training centre at the heart of what proposes to be an exciting, internationally leading development will be distinct in Scotland in terms of the potential to deliver positive impact in one of Fife’s most deprived areas in terms of access and education (SIMD 2012 Leuchars and Guardbridge). The integrated and sustainable Guardbridge development presents a unique opportunity to create a range of fully integrated education and training pathways with multiple entry and exit points focused on inclusion, raising aspirations and routes to employment.‌ Running central to this proposal is the development of a bridged School, College and industry curriculum which will encompass technical skills training enhanced through industry partnerships with on-site industries, together with all the underpinning academic qualifications. By doing so, we will ensure that participants in the STEM Academy programmes are work-ready and meet the critical skills requirements of a number of key sectors in the Scottish economy. Furthermore, by focusing on the emerging businesses on site at Guardbridge we will be able to develop xxxxxxxx xxxx for these industries combined with research and knowledge transfer activities linked to the three initial themes of: • Green energy integration (community-sized level);‌ • Advance materials production; • Datacentre and high performance computing. Two other areas include: • the provision of flexible infrastructure to accelerate innovation (e.g. water, electricity, heat, hydrogen, carbon capture to product);‌ • the provision of energy for the university’s own use. There are also plans to relocate some of the university’s professional services staff including the set-up of a new special collections archive centre with 65 specialist librarians. St Xxxxxxx University. Initial discussions have taken place around the creation of a Learning Partnership Portfolio between the St Xxxxxxx University, Fife College and Levenmouth Academy. This portfolio would aim to increase widening access for senior phase pupils and adult returners whilst shortening the learner journey and improving chances for students from deprived background. St Xxxxxxx University also supports the delivery of study skills for students on Fife College programmes. A conversation has started with a view to establishing a partnership delivery opportunity and progression pathway for Jewellery programmes. Whilst at an early stage, these discussions may result in additional local Degree level study opportunity for Fife students. UCAS information 2015-16 cycle In this cycle there were 517 applications to UCAS through the College of which 347 were successfully placed giving a success rate of 67%. Of the 300 HN students, 129 were studying at HNC level and 171 at HND level. The successful applicants from HN courses can be further analysed to show the following placement at University.   • SHOP XXXXXXX The Shop Xxxxxxx shall be a County employee as selected by the Union. A list of shop stewards will be kept current and sent by the Union to each department head and to Human Resources. Duties required by the Union of its stewards, except attendance at meetings with the County, supervisory personnel and aggrieved employees arising out of a grievance already initiated by an employee under Article 14 hereof, shall not interfere with their or other employees, regular work assignments as employees of the County. The shop xxxxxxx, or their designee, involved with a particular grievance must be identified at Step 1 of the grievance procedure and will be designated as the only bargaining unit employee who will be able to gather information pertaining to that particular grievance. The Union will make reasonable efforts to control the amount of investigative time spent between the shop xxxxxxx and the aggrieved employee. Meetings scheduled with management and other proper investigative procedures, and attendance at meetings specified in Steps 1 and 2 of the grievance procedure shall be considered hours worked for compensation purposes to the extent such meetings occur during the normal hours of work, and not otherwise. In order to use union leave for this purpose, Shop Stewards must notify the supervisor/department head of meetings and other commitments at the time these are scheduled. Attendance at meetings specified in Step 3 of the grievance procedure shall be considered hours worked during regularly scheduled business hours of the County for the xxxxxxx involved, witnesses and the grievant. The County shall not be liable for any overtime as a result of the meeting. Witnesses and the shop xxxxxxx involved shall be granted leave with pay to the extent their presence at the proceedings is required. If it is a discharge case the grievant shall not be paid except as provided in a remedy awarded.
