Standown. Bevilles may deduct payment for any day or part thereof during which an Employee cannot be usefully employed due to any breakdown or stoppage of work for which Bevilles cannot be reasonably held responsible. This does not break continuity of service for the purpose of accrual of entitlements.

Standown. Regular Casual Employees will be: ▪ stood down without pay when there is no work available; ▪ given at least 24 hours notice that they will be stood down. A shorter period of notice may be agreed between the Work Section Manager and the Employee; YOU MUST BE GIVEN 24 HOURS NOTICE BEFORE BEING STOOD DOWN ▪ advised in writing, prior to any Standown of more than ten (10) consecutive working days (excluding public holidays, Saturdays and Sundays), their anticipated date of return to work; YOU’LL BE GIVEN WRITTEN NOTICE BEFORE BEING STOOD DOWN FOR MORE THAN 10 WORK DAYS ▪ the Company can vary the initial anticipated date of return by up to a further twenty (20) consecutive days (excluding public holidays, Saturdays and Sundays), or by mutual agreement. A period in excess of this the Company must provide the Employee with further work or determine whether the employment is to continue; ▪ If the Stand down is expected to be more than forty (40) working days (excluding public holidays, Saturdays and Sundays) then; - Clause 10.9, Introduction of Change, will apply. ▪ the standing down of Regular Casual Employees, within each designated work area, will be based in priority order, as follows: - availability of work as determined by the Company; - work record and performance related to any disciplinary action taken in relation to Sub clause 19.2 (discipline/dismissal procedure) of this Agreement; - classification (lowest classification and skill level); - shortest length of service (least amount of ordinary hours). THOSE WITH THE HIGHEST CLASSIFICATION WITH NO DISCIPLINARY ACTION AGAINST THEM, WHO HAVE PUT IN THE MOST HOURS, WILL BE THE LAST TO BE STOOD DOWN. TWO REGULAR CASUAL EMPLOYEES WERE STOOD DOWN ON 19 JULY 2007. FOUR REGULAR CASUAL EMPLOYEES WERE NOT STOOD DOWN. THE TWO STOOD DOWN REGULAR CASUAL EMPLOYEES WERE GRADE 3’S (AQF 2) WHO HAD BEEN EMPLOYED BY THE COMPANY FOR BETWEEN FOUR AND FIVE YEARS. THE FOUR REGULAR CASUAL EMPLOYEES WHO WERE NOT STOOD DOWN WERE ALL GRADE 3’S (AQF 2) WHO HAD BEEN EMPLOYED BY THE COMPANY FOR MORE THAN FIVE YEARS AND DID NOT HAVE DISCIPLINARY ACTION TAKEN AGAINST THEM IN RELATION TO CLAUSE 19.2 (DISCIPLINE/DISMISSAL PROCEDURE) OF THIS AGREEMENT. ▪ The return to work of Regular Casual Employees, within each designated work area, will be based in priority order as follows: - availability of work as determined by the Company; - availability of the Regular Casual Employee. - work record and performance related to any disciplinary action...

  • STAND DOWN The Company may stand down an Employee if the Employee cannot be usefully employed in productive work because of an industrial dispute, or because of machinery breakdown or a stoppage or downturn of work that the Company is not reasonably responsible for. An Employee is not entitled to payment when stood down.
