STEP l Sample Clauses

STEP lThe employee, who may request the assistance of his Xxxxxxx, may present his alleged grievance to the Public Works Manager or his designate. The Grievance shall be in writing and shall include the nature of the grievance, the remedy sought and the section or sections of the Agreement which are alleged to have been violated. The Public Works Manager shall deliver his decision in writing to the griever within five (5) working days following the presentation of the grievance to him. Failing settlement: Within five (5) working days after the decision in Step #1 is given, the written grievance shall be submitted to the Chief Administrative Officer or his designate. Subsequently, a meeting will be held between the Chief Administrative Officer and the Xxxxxxx to discuss the grievance and attempt to effect a settlement. The Chief Administrative Officer and the Xxxxxxx may each choose one other interested person to assist at the aforementioned meeting, and it is understood that the parties may hear whatever witnesses as may be mutually agreed upon. The decision of the Chief Administrative Officer shall be delivered in writing to the Xxxxxxx and the griever within five (5) working days following the aforementioned meeting.
STEP lThe grievance, when it first arises, shall be taken up between the employee, a Xxxxxxx, and the employee’s immediate supervisor. The immediate supervisor shall give an oral or a written decision on the grievance within five (5) working days thereafter.
STEP l. Any teacher who has a grievance shall, with or without the Union Representative, discuss it first with the Principal in an attempt to resolve the matter at that level.
STEP lA grievance shall be submitted in writing setting out the facts of the grievance together with the provisions of the Agreement by specific number alleged to have been violated, and shall not be subject to change after submission. The grievance shall be submitted to the Superintendent of Human Resources with a copy to the appropriate Superintendent of Schools within fourteen (l4) days after the event which gave rise to the grievance or after the date when the event could reasonably have been detected. The Superintendent or designate, accompanied by another Board representative if requested by the Superintendent, shall meet with the griever and the griever's representative, if selected, within seven (7) days following the date on which the grievance was received by the Superintendent. Within the seven (7) days after the meeting, the Superintendent shall forward the written decision, together with reasons therefor, to the griever. If the griever rejects the decision, the grievance officer shall notify the Superintendent in writing accordingly within seven (7) days after receiving the decision.
STEP l. When a cause for grievance occurs, the affected bargaining unit employee(s) shall request a meeting with his/her immediate supervisor in an effort to resolve the complaint. The employee(s) shall meet with the immediate supervisor no more than ten (10) days after the occurrence of the event which gave rise to the alleged grievance. The Union may be notified and a representative thereof present with the bargaining unit member at such meeting. If the bargaining unit member is not satisfied with the result(s) of the meeting, he/she may formalize the grievance in writing as provided hereunder.
STEP lAny employee who has a grievance shall discuss the matter with his/her direct supervisor. The supervisor shall give his/her oral answer within two (2) working days thereafter.
STEP l. The employee concerned must within ten (10) working daysfromthedayheknew, or should have known, of the act or condition on which the grievance is based, informally take up the grievance with his supervisor to whom he is directly responsible. If the employee does not present the grievance within the ten (I10) working days as provided above, the employee shall be deemed to have waivedthe grievance of the act or condition.

STEP l. The aggrieved employee must first attempt to resolve the grievance informally with the immediate supervisor. Thereafter, if the grievance is not settled within ten (l0) working days -- The aggrieved employee shall present the grievance in writing on the form furnished by the District to the immediate supervisor within five (5) working days. The grievance will not be processed unless all terms and conditions of the grievance form are complied with. Election of an alternative course of action or remedy prior to the submission of a grievance at this stage shall be considered to be a waiver of the right of an employee to thereafter seek recourse by means of the grievance procedure.

  • STEP IV If the Association is not satisfied with the disposition of the grievance at Step III, the Association may submit the grievance to final and binding arbitration through the American Arbitration Association, which shall act as the administrator of the proceedings. If a demand for arbitration is not filed within thirty (30) days of the day for Step IV answer, then the grievance shall be deemed withdrawn. a. The arbitrator shall have no power to alter the terms of the agreement.
