Student Worker. For the purpose of this Contract, a student worker is a current or previous Medford high school student and meets one of the following three criteria: 1. Currently enrolled in high school. 2. Summer following high school graduation. 3. Enrolled in a college program and performing bargaining unit work.

Student Worker. A student worker shall mean a student of Oakland Community College who is registered as at least a half- time student six (6) credit hours each in the fall, winter and summer semesters. This restriction may be waived by mutual consent between the parties. The Work-Study students shall be governed by Work-Study Programs.

Student Worker. Employe+es of the College who are in positions that are declared “Student Worker” or “Student Employee” can be declared exempt from the bargaining unit under the following conditions:‌ 1) In a position only advertised to students.‌ 2) Student positions are part-time. Student employees must be enrolled at or above 6 credits, or the contact hour equivalent for non-credit students, each term they are employed. Exceptions may be made on union approval.‌ 3) The intent of these guidelines is for the College to distinguish between those individuals who are primarily students and those individuals who are primarily hourly classified employees.‌ Student workers are intended to augment contracted bargaining unit employees, not replace them. When a classified position is declared to be a “Student Worker” position, an explanation for the exemption from the bargaining unit will be written and placed on file in the department to be held for review upon request. The reviewing parties can include Human Resources, Affirmative Action/EEO, the Union, and any affected employees.
Student Worker a) is enrolled at and attending a post-secondary institution in Canada b) shall not be used to displace bargaining unit personnel, or to deprive bargaining unit personnel of training or overtime opportunities. It is understood that students are not depriving bargaining unit personnel of overtime opportunities when the students are performing work of the bargaining unit during regular working hours; c) shall be exempt from the provisions of this agreement;

  • Student Teachers A. The term "student teacher" as used hereinafter shall refer to student teachers, intern teachers and all other such programs. Agreement to become a supervising teacher of a student teacher shall be strictly voluntary and is recognized not to result in such bargaining unit members becoming supervisors within the meaning of the Public Employment Relations Act (PERA). Probationary teachers are prohibited from accepting student teachers. B. It is expressly agreed that the Association may refuse to permit a bargaining unit member from supervising or directing the activities of a student teacher in the event: 1. The student teacher would displace instructional aides, para- professionals, or other current employees then employed. 2. The use of such student teacher would be used by the Employer as a basis for not hiring additional bargaining unit personnel. C. The Board shall disclose all terms of any agreement between it and any student placing institution. The terms and conditions of placement of student teachers shall be consistent with this agreement, unless otherwise agreed to by the Association. D. The supervising teacher shall have the right to accept an honorarium or other such token of appreciation as may be offered by the student/intern placing institution. E. Prior to acceptance of a student teacher, there shall be a meeting between the teacher, prospective student teacher, principal, president of the Association or an executive committee member of the Association. Following this interview, the teacher shall then have the right to accept or reject the student teacher. F. Any terms or conditions of this section not previously specified in this agreement shall be negotiated between the Board and the Association prior to implementation of future programs.

  • Shiftworkers 35.1 Shiftworker for the purposes of this clause is defined as an Employee who performs Shiftwork and who starts or finishes a shift outside of the ordinary hours set out at clause 34.2 above. 35.2 A Shiftworker shall be paid at the rate of double time for all hours worked. 35.3 An Employee who has to work Shiftwork shall be given at least 48 hours of notice of the requirements to work shift work.

  • Coordination with Workers' Compensation When an employee has incurred an on-the- job injury or an on-the-job disability and has filed a claim for workers' compensation, medical costs connected with the injury or disability shall be paid by the employee's health plan, pursuant to M.S. 176.191, Subdivision 3.

  • Independent Contractor; Workers’ Compensation Insurance The Contractor is performing as an independent entity under this Contract. No part of this Contract shall be construed to represent the creation of an employment, agency, partnership or joint venture agreement between the parties. Neither party will assume liability for any injury (including death) to any persons, or damage to any property, arising out of the acts or omissions of the agents, employees or subcontractors of the other party. The Contractor shall provide all necessary unemployment and workers’ compensation insurance for the Contractor’s employees, and shall provide the State with a Certificate of Insurance evidencing such coverage prior to starting work under this Contract.

  • STUDENT DATA Contractor acknowledges that student data is protected by both federal and state law. See Wis. Stat. § 118.125; 20 U.S.C. § 1232g(b); 34 C.F.R. § 99.1

  • Student Employees A student employee is an employee who is hired for short-term work which is not ongoing. He/she is normally in the process of completing his/her post-graduate studies and is expected to return to his/her studies after an agreed employment period. The employee's benefits and working conditions are as per Article 34 (Temporary Employees).

  • Training Courses The Employer shall bulletin any training courses and experimental programs for which employees may be selected. The bulletin shall contain the following information: (a) type of course (subjects and material to be covered), (b) time, duration and location of the course, (c) basic minimum qualifications required for applicants. This bulletin shall be posted for a period of two (2) weeks on bulletin boards in all Departments to afford all interested employees an opportunity to apply for such training. The senior qualified applicant shall be selected.
