Shift Workers. All shift workers (i.e. workers whose shift commences at or after the end of the ordinary day work hours) presenting for work when the temperature is at or over 35°C will remain on site in air conditioned amenities for a minimum two hours, holding themselves available to commence work should the temperature fall below 35°C.
Shift Workers. The Employer agrees that, upon request, it will allow an afternoon or evening shift employee to leave the work station at a mutually convenient time to move the employee's automobile closer to the building exit.
Shift Workers. (a) Employees working shiftwork will be entitled to take two (2), paid thirty (30) minute work breaks.
(b) All work breaks taken whilst performing shift work will be in paid time.
(c) The maximum period between any work break, or a work break and the end or start of a work day, will be five (5) hours.
(d) Where an Employee works more than two (2) additional hours after their normal finish time (after more than twelve (12) hours worked) on any day, the employee is entitled to an additional paid break of thirty (30) minutes duration paid at the double time rate.
Shift Workers. If you are a shift worker you will be entitled to an additional week’s leave; prorated if you are on shift work for less than a year.
Shift Workers. The Employer agrees that, upon request, it will allow an afternoon or evening shift employee to leave the work station at a mutually convenient time to move the employee's automobile closer to an elevator or building exit. Employees may request College provided security personnel to escort them to their vehicle, on the premises, after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and at anytime on weekends. The Parties agree that the escort option outlined above will only be provided on campuses with College provided security personnel.
Shift Workers. For employees on a shift pattern where statutory holidays are already included in the total number of rest days for the year:
(a) Clauses 17.03, 17.04 and 17.05 do not apply;
(b) An employee who works the majority of their shift on a designated holiday which is a scheduled work day shall be compensated at the rate of single time in addition to their basic salary except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of time and one-half in addition to their regular salary. Employees shall have the option of taking the compensation in excess of the basic salary in cash or in time off in accordance with the provisions of Article 26.
Shift Workers. The rate of wage to be paid to a shift worker shall be at the rate payable for work in ordinary time according to the relevant employee’s roster or projected roster, including shift allowances.
Shift Workers. A. Shift workers will receive 8 hours of holiday pay at their regular base hourly rate of pay for the day on which a designated holiday is observed pursuant to Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 above.
B. In addition to the holiday pay pursuant to Section 4 above, shift workers who are scheduled to work on a designated holiday as provided in Section 3 above shall be guaranteed overtime pay at the rate of 1 1/2 times the employee’s regular base hourly rate for the number of hours worked on the designated holiday.
C. Shift workers who are required to work the actual holiday of Thanksgiving or Christmas shall be paid at the rate of two times his regular base hourly rate for the number of hours worked on the actual holiday. Any hours paid at the rate of two times his regular base hourly rate on either of these holidays shall not be counted as hours actually worked for purposes of computing overtime.
D. If an employee is unable to work on a designated holiday which had been scheduled as a day of work, he will be paid holiday pay for that day but may not also use sick leave pay, vacation, personal leave, or other paid time-off benefits for the same day.
E. Relief operators shall observe holidays pursuant to Section 3 above and may be scheduled off work on the day the designated holiday is observed. If the designated holiday is observed on either Friday or Monday pursuant to Section 3B, and the relief operator is scheduled to work on the official holiday as set forth in Section 3A on Saturday or Sunday, he will be scheduled to work a full regular work schedule on days other than the observed designated holiday, provided the employee actually works all hours scheduled in that week and is not absent on paid or unpaid leave.
F. Other sections of this Article apply to shift workers only as specifically noted.
Shift Workers. All time worked before or after the employee's regular work day or regular work week or on an employee's regular day off shall be considered overtime. Employees will not be required to work overtime unless impracticable to make other arrangements. Overtime rates will be as follows:
i) Time and one-half will be paid for the first two hours worked over the regular working time in any one day, and double time thereafter.
ii) Double time will be paid for work performed by an employee on his or her regular weekly days off.
iii) Employees required to work overtime immediately prior to and continuous with their next regular starting time of their next shift will be compensated at the rate of double time for the overtime so worked.
iv) Payment of double time rates will be made for overtime work performed by shift workers in excess of their regular scheduled shifts on a public holiday.
Shift Workers. A shift worker is an employee who works in a program where the hours of work are regularly rotated through day, afternoon, night shifts and weekends covering 24 hour day operations over 7 days of the week and 52 weeks of the year. Anglicare WA employs shift workers in residential programs.
