TAFE Year Sample Clauses

TAFE Year. 27.1 For the purpose of this clause, Teacher includes Head Teacher (excluding Head Teacher Band 3). 27.2 TAFE NSW shall operate for a period of 50 weeks in a calendar year. There shall be a two week close down period in Colleges/Campuses over the Christmas and New Year period. The dates of the close down period shall be determined by the Managing Director or delegate. 27.3 Teachers working TAFE Year programs shall undertake teaching duties for 36 weeks, non- teaching duties for five weeks and are to receive the same number of public holidays, annual leave, and agreed non-attendance days in the TAFE Year as Teachers who are working the Standard Educational Year. 27.4 Teachers may not be directed to teach more than twelve consecutive weeks without taking annual leave or agreed non-attendance or may not elect to teach more than eighteen consecutive weeks without taking annual leave or agreed non-attendance. 27.5 Staffing of courses delivered outside the Standard Educational Year shall be based on the consultative procedure set out in 27.6 below. 27.6 In determining how Teachers will be allocated to deliver programs, Managers of the relevant sections shall: 27.6.1 in the first instance, seek volunteer Teachers (this may include Part Time Casual Teachers) from within the educational area/ Faculty and/or Teaching section to teach the course; and 27.6.2 in the event that no Teachers within the Faculty and/or Teaching section are available, a TAFE Manager may direct a full time Teacher to undertake the program, provided that a Teacher directed to teach in a TAFE Year program in the midsummer student vacation shall not be directed to teach a TAFE Year program in the following midsummer student vacation. 27.7 Subject to the requirements of subclause 35.4, Managers and Teachers must ensure deferred annual leave and agreed non-attendance weeks are built into a Teacher’s TAFE Year approved program. Deferred annual leave shall be taken on an agreed basis between the Teacher and their line manager, taking into account the educational programs in the Faculty and/or Teaching section, particularly in the first two weeks of the Standard Educational Year, and the needs of the Teacher. If agreement cannot be reached after reasonable consultation, the Manager may direct that the Teacher ensure deferred annual leave and agreed non-attendance weeks are built into a Teacher’s TAFE Year approved program. 27.8 Deferred annual leave and agreed non-attendance shall be taken, whenever ...

The dates of the close down period shall be determined by the Managing Director or delegate. 24.3 Teachers working TAFE Year programs shall undertake teaching duties for 36 41 weeks, non‐ teaching duties for five weeks and are to receive the same number of public holidays, annual leave, and agreed non‐attendance and vacation days in the TAFE Year as Teachers who are working the Standard Educational Year. 24.4 Teachers may not be directed to teach more than twelve consecutive weeks without taking a vacation break leave or may not elect to teach more than eighteen consecutive weeks without taking a vacation leave break. 24.5 Staffing of courses delivered outside the Standard Educational Year shall be based on the consultative procedure set out in 24.6 below. 24.6 Managers of the relevant sections shall: 24.6.1 at in the first instance, seek volunteers Teachers (this may include Part Time Casual Teachers) from within the College/CampusFaculty and/or Teaching section to teach the course. If suitably qualified full time Teachers from within the College/Campus are available and they wish to make alternative vacation arrangements, the College/Campus should introduce an equitable system of selecting volunteer Teachers on a rotation basis; 24.if no suitable full time Teachers within the College/Campus are available, then offers to teach courses may be extended to full time Teachers at other Colleges/Campuses;
