Temporary Vacancies Less Than. 45 Days (a) Notwithstanding Art 12.01, if the vacancy is a temporary one of less than forty five (45) calendar days, the position shall not be posted and instead shall be filled as follows: (i) in order of seniority, by qualified regular employees who have indicated in writing their desire to work additional hours; (ii) by casual employees (iii) if the application of this paragraph requires the employer to pay overtime to the employee, the proposed move shall not be made; (b) Where operational requirements make it necessary, the Employer may make temporary appointments pending the posting and consideration of bargaining unit applicants pursuant to Article 12.01.
