TENANT INVOLVEMENT. The Council has a partnership with its tenants and leaseholders and to further this relationship the Organisation will honour the Council’s Tenant Compact so as to support and encourage tenant involvement. The initial form of the Council’s Tenant Compact forms Annex 4 and the Business Plan will include sufficient resources to ensure that the objectives of the Council’s Tenant Compact are met.
4.1 The Council and the Organisation will work together so as to ensure that the Council’s Tenant Compact is amended from time to time so far as necessary to comply with all statutory requirements and other official guidance issued from time to time and follow best professional practice.
4.2 The Council’s Tenant Compact objectives will be reviewed and consulted upon annually and sufficient resources will be provided for in the Business Plan to deliver these objectives.
4.3 The Council’s Tenant Compact will include strategies for involving ‘difficult to reach’ groups and those tenants who do not normally get involved in the management of their homes.
4.4 A summary of the Annual Performance Plan will be provided to the Council Representative for approval and on receipt of approval will be forwarded to every household affected in the tenants’ bulletin.
4.5 The organisation will be committed to the Council’s engagement strategy.
TENANT INVOLVEMENT. 18.1 You have the right to attend the Tenant Forums, Tenant Conferences, and to be a member of the Sounding Board and Service Improvement Teams. You can get information regarding these from Contact Harlow, on 00000 000000.
18.2 The Council will tell you when Forums and Conferences are to be held.
18.3 The Council will send you a Housing Annual Report every year, telling you about the Council’s work and performance. Should you require a full copy of this document, this can be made available from Contact Harlow on 00000 000000 or via the Harlow Council website xxx.xxxxxx.xxx.xx.
18.4 The Council does not have to consult you about increases or decreases to the rent or other charges but must tell you in writing at least four weeks before any rent or other charges are changed.
18.5 The Council must ask your views about making any other changes to this Agreement, and you will be told in writing if such changes are to go ahead.

4.1 The Organisation shall amend the Tenant Compact from time to time so far as necessary to comply with all statutory requirements and other official guidance issued from time to time and follow best professional practice .
4.2 The Organisation shall review and consult upon the Tenant Compact objectives annually and shall ensure that sufficient resources will be provided for in the Delivery Plan to deliver these objectives.
4.3 The Organisation shall ensure that the Tenant Compact will include strategies for involving ‘difficult to reach’ groups and those tenants who do not normally get involved in the management of their homes.
4.4 The Organisation shall provide a summary of the Annual Performance Plan to the Council Representative for approval and on receipt of approval shall forward a copy to every household affected.
TENANT INVOLVEMENT. (a) We believe that all tenants should have the opportunity to play an active role in the management and development of the Housing Services provided by St. Leger Homes of Doncaster, through Governance and the Menu of Involvement.
(b) All tenants have the right to start or join a local tenants association or other tenants groups. Our local Area Housing Offices can tell you more about the groups in your area and how you can become more involved.
TENANT INVOLVEMENT. North and West Housing encourages and promotes tenant involvement through its ‘Tenant Participation Strategy’. You should contact your Housing Officer to find out what groups are operating in your area. See Section 7.0 for further details.

The Council recognises the important role of tenants in developing services offered and provided by housing associations and will therefore expect the partners to: • work together in order to improve tenant involvement; • support the formation of joint residents’ groups in areas where it is appropriate; • actively encourage and support residents’ group involvement in all levels of decision making in line with Housing Corporation guidelines; • demonstrate that residents are represented on the housing association’s Board and are able to contribute to decision making. • the partnership will take every opportunity to promote the work of the partnership including promoting best practice and highlighting successes.

4.4 The Tenant Compact will include strategies for involving all tenants, leaseholders and residents as well as ‘difficult to reach’ groups and those tenants who do not normally get involved in the management of their homes.
4.5 The Annual HRA Budget Report, Capital Report and Delivery Plan will be provided to the Council’s Representative for consideration and approval and on receipt of approval a summary shall be agreed and made available to tenants and leaseholders through the Organisation’s normal communication channels.
TENANT INVOLVEMENT. 5.1 Your rent includes an amount to pay for tenant involvement in decisions about the Council’s housing service. Council’s Responsibilities
5.2 We must ask your views about any of the Council’s housing plans if they substantially affect you—for example we will consult you about modernisation or improvement work planned for your home or your area. We will involve you or your tenants’ group in local housing issues.
5.3 We must ask your views about any planned changes to the tenancy agreement. You will be told in writing if these changes are to go ahead.
5.4 We must provide information every year about our work and performance. It will tell you how the service is paid for and how your money is spent.
5.5 We must deal with your complaints efficiently and effectively. If you need to make a complaint, contact housing services.
5.6 We do not have to consult you about increases or decreases to the rent or the service charge (paid by some tenants for their heating or fittings). But we will tell you in writing at least four weeks before any rent change or one week before any change to the service charge. Tenant's rights
5.7 You have the right to see information we have about you, your partner or your family. (In certain circumstances you will not be able to see everything—for example details about other tenants). You can get copies of the information but you may have to pay. Contact housing services.
5.8 You have the right to start or join local tenants’ group. Contact housing services for information about groups in your area or about how to start one.
5.9 You have the right to come to most Council committee meetings that decide how Council services are run and managed.

4.2 The Customer Involvement Strategy will include strategies for engaging “difficult to reach” groups and those tenants who do not normally get involved in the management of their homes.
4.3 The Organisation will consult with the Tenant Representative Body at appropriate intervals to review the Customer Involvement Strategy and the objectives set out in it.
4.4 The Delivery Plan will include sufficient resources to ensure the objectives set out in the Customer Involvement Strategy can be met.
4.5 The Organisation will keep the Customer Involvement Strategy up-to- date so that it:-
4.5.1 complies with all relevant statutory requirements and other official guidance; and
4.5.2 follows best professional practice.
