to Work After Sick Leave. After an extended leave of greater than eight consecutive twenty-four hour shifts, or one hundred and sixty consecutive work hours for 40 hour/week union members, due to illness or injury, the union member may be required by the Chief to submit to a return-to-duty medical evaluation by a physician of the Township’s choice and at the Township’s expense. The union member will be compensated at his/her appropriate rate for time spent. Travel will begin and end at the Central Station.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.

  • Misuse of Sick Leave Use of sick leave for that which it was not intended or provided.

  • Cumulative Sick Leave 16.1 Employees covered by this collective agreement will carry forward their accumulated sick leave days from the predecessor school boards to a maximum of 280 days. Effective September 1, 1999 employees (other than temporary employees) shall be credited with two (2) days of sick leave for each month of active full time service to a yearly maximum of 20 days for ten month employees. Effective September 1, 2003 100% of the unused days each year are accumulated, to a possible sick leave total of three hundred (300) days. Sick leave days will be pro-rated for part-time employment.

  • Vacation and Sick Leave At such reasonable times as the Board of Directors shall in its discretion permit, the Employee shall be entitled, without loss of pay, to absent himself voluntarily from the performance of his employment under this Agreement, with all such voluntary absences to count as vacation time; provided that:

After the first year of full-time employment, a full-time faculty member who, by reason of personal illness or a medically certified disability is incapable of performing the regular duties of a faculty member, shall be entitled to a sick leave, with full pay (in lieu of contract salary which otherwise would be earned), for a period not to exceed six months. In no event, however, shall the University’s payment for sick leave exceed one-half (1/2) of the faculty member’s then prevailing annual contract salary. If the faculty member receives governmental disability benefits and/or workers’ compensation benefits during the period of absence, the faculty member shall be paid the difference between the benefits received and the benefits provided above.

  • Abuse of Sick Leave Misuse of leave, violation of orders, directives, or contractual requirements concerning the use of sick leave and other forms of leave used in lieu of sick leave are cause for disciplinary action.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.
