Misuse of Sick Leave. Use of sick leave for that which it was not intended or provided.
Misuse of Sick Leave. Sick leave is a benefit protecting our employees against the financial burden of illness. Any proven misuse or abuse of sick leave will subject the employee to disciplinary action including discharge.
Misuse of Sick Leave. If the principal or his/her superiors find that the professional employee has violated or misused this sick leave, the principal may require the employee to provide a signed statement attesting to his/her illness from a licensed physician for any subsequent absences. The employee will be notified in writing of this requirement, along with the reasons for such a decision. A copy of this notification will be sent to the Association. This requirement will remain in effect until the end of the school year or until revoked by the principal, whichever is the shorter period. In the event that it can be shown that a professional employee violated or misused this sick leave policy or misrepresented any statement or condition under this policy, he/she may be subject to a reprimand and/or forfeiture of pay for the day or days absent.
Misuse of Sick Leave. Where it has been established that an employee has misused the sick leave provisions, such misuse will be cause for termination of services by the Employer.
Misuse of Sick Leave. Any employee failing to comply with the Article on sick leave shall not be entitled to pay. Application for sick leave with the intent to defraud shall result in disciplinary action. Altering a physician's statement shall be grounds for immediate dismissal.
Misuse of Sick Leave. When the Superintendent/designee determines that potential misuse of sick leave may exist, a meeting will be arranged with the unit member, administration, and a representative of the Association. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the potential misuse of sick leave and to provide the unit member an opportunity to explain, rebut or refute the suspected misuse. If a satisfactory explanation is not provided, action will be taken by the Board, including, but not limited to corrective counseling and progressive discipline. Falsification of a sick leave statement shall be grounds for serious disciplinary action, including potential termination of employment.
Misuse of Sick Leave. Employees failing to comply with sick leave rules and regulations shall not be paid and are subject to disciplinary procedures. Application for sick leave with the intent to defraud will result in dismissal and refund of salary or wages paid. If the administration has reason to believe that sick leave is being misused by an employee, the administration has the right to discuss this matter with the individual employee.
Misuse of Sick Leave. Where the Employer has reasonable grounds to believe an employee is misusing or has misused the sick leave provisions of the Agreement, such misuse will be cause for disciplinary action by the Employer.
Misuse of Sick Leave is cause for disciplinary action up to and including discharge. The Employer may investigate cases of suspected sick leave misuse and may at any time during the course of that investigation and to the extent allowed by law request the employee provide verification that the employee’s use of sick leave is for an authorized purpose as set forth in this article. Except in cases of sick leave misuse, employees’ use of sick leave shall not be used as criteria for performance evaluation.
Misuse of Sick Leave. No unit employee shall misuse, feign, and/or misrepresent any illness or injury or deceive any other employee, supervisor, or any representative of the City as to their real condition for the purpose of remaining away from scheduled work assignments. Should this misuse, feigning, or misrepresentation of illness or injury be proven, disciplinary action will be taken, which could include dismissal from the City.
