Trial Period Upon Promotion or Transfer. In the event an employee is promoted or transferred to a higher-rated position, the employee shall be considered to be on trial for a period of not more than ninety (90) working days. If, at the end of the trial period, the employee is not considered satisfactory in the higher-rated position, the employee shall be returned either to their previously held position or to a position of equal value to that which the employee held prior to the promotion or transfer, without loss of seniority. It is agreed that the time mentioned herein may be extended by mutual agreement.

A promoted or transferred employee will be "on trial" during the first three (3) months of the promotion or transfer to determine suitability in the position. If an employee does not prove satisfactory in the new position, the employee shall be returned to the employee's former position without loss of seniority or salary in such former position.
