Uniform and Laundry Allowances. ‌ 23.1 Subject to subclause 23.3 of this clause, sufficient, suitable and serviceable uniforms, including one pair of shoes per annum which shall be of a recognised acceptable standard for the performance of nursing duties, and one cardigan or jacket shall be supplied free of cost to each employee required to wear a uniform. An employee to whom a new uniform or part of a uniform has been issued who, without good reason, fails to return the corresponding article last supplied shall not be entitled to have such article replaced without payment therefore at a reasonable price. 23.2 An employee, on leaving the service of the employer, shall return any uniform or part thereof supplied by that employer which is still in use immediately prior to leaving. 23.3 The following subclauses relating to uniforms and protective clothing shall apply where applicable; (1) In lieu of supplying uniforms and shoes to an employee, the employer shall pay the said employee the sum set out in Item 3 of Table 2, for uniforms and the sum set out in Item 4 of Table 2 for shoes per week. (2) In lieu of supplying stockings to an employee the employer shall pay the said employee the sum set out in Item 5 of Table 2 per week. (3) In lieu of supplying a cardigan or jacket to an employee the employer shall pay the said employee the sum set out in Item 6 of Table 2 per week. (4) If, in any Day Procedure Centre, the uniforms of an employee are not laundered at the expense of the Day Procedure Centre an allowance of the sum set out in Item 7 of Table 2 shall be paid to the said employee; provided that the payment of such laundry allowance shall not be made to any employee on absences exceeding one week. (5) Where the employer requires any employee to wear headwear, the Day Procedure Centre shall provide headwear free of charge to the employee. (6) In lieu of supplying socks to an employee the employer shall pay the said employee the sum set out in Item 8 of Table 2 per week. (7) The allowances referred to subclause 23.3 are also payable during any period of paid leave.

Uniform and Laundry Allowances. Where the Employer requires a uniform to be worn, an adequate supply (as specified by the hospital Uniform Policy) of such uniforms shall be provided to the Caregivers. (i) A laundry allowance of the sum set out in Table 2 Allowances, at Appendix 1, shall be paid to the employee; provided that the payment of such laundry allowance shall not be made to any employee on absences exceeding one week. (ii) No uniform shall be replaced within 18 months of the date of issue, provided that where a uniform is damaged in the course of employment, the uniform shall be replace or repaired by the Employer. (iii) The Caregiver shall be required to return the replaced uniform when new uniform is issued. (iv) Uniforms provided by the Employer shall at all times remain the property of the Employer and must be returned to the Employer on termination. (v) Failure to return hospital uniforms may lead to a delay in the processing of any termination payment and to the Employer deducting, by agreement with the employee in writing, the cost of the uniforms from any monies owing to the Caregiver. (vi) All casual Caregivers shall be required to dress in accordance with the Employer designated standards.

These shall be of a recognised acceptable standard for the performance of nursing duties 14.2 An employee, on leaving the service of an employer, shall return any uniform or part thereof supplied by that employer which is still in use immediately prior to leaving. 14.3 The employer will launder the uniforms at the expense of the hospital. (a) In lieu of supplying uniforms and shoes to an employee, an employer shall pay the said employee the sum set out in Item 8 of Table 2 – Other Rates and Allowances, of Part B, Monetary Rates, for uniforms and the sum set out in Item 9 of Table 2 – Other Rates and Allowances, of Part B Monetary Rates, for shoes per week. (b) In lieu of supplying stockings to an employee an employer shall pay the said employee the sum set out in Item 10 of Table 2 – Other Rates and Allowances, of Part B Monetary Rates, per week. (c) In lieu of supplying a cardigan or jacket to an employee an employer shall pay the said employee the sum set out in Item 11 of Table – Other Rates and Allowances, of Part B Monetary Rates, 3 per week. (d) In lieu of supplying socks to an employee the employer shall pay the said employee the sum set out in Item 12 of Table 2 – Other Rates and Allowances, of Part B Monetary Rates, per week. (e) The allowances referred to are also payable during any period of paid leave.

Uniform and Laundry Allowances. (i) An employee shall receive the following uniform and laundry allowances per week (pro-rata for part time employees). (a) Uniforms $6.49 per week (b) Stockings $3.21 per week (c) Laundry $4.49 per week (d) Shoes $1.69 per week (ii) All shoes worn by nursing staff are required to meet occupational health and safety standards and are to have enclosed toes and a low/flat heel. (iii) Employees who are required to wear lead gowns whilst conducting their duties will receive an allowance of $1.32 per hour. Employees will be required to complete a log sheet detailing the date and time lead gowns are worn. This log sheet must be sent to administration on the Friday prior to the next pay run.

Uniform and Laundry Allowances. (i) Where an employee is required by the Employer to wear a uniform: (1) in lieu of supplying uniforms to an employee, an employer shall pay the said employee the sum set out at Table 2 - Other Rates and Allowances, of Part B, Monetary Rates, for uniforms per week. (2) in lieu of supplying a cardigan or jacket to an employee an employer shall pay the said employee the sum set out in Table 2 per week. (3) if, in any hospital, the uniforms of an employee are not laundered at the expense of the hospital an allowance of the sum set out in Table 2 shall be paid to the said employee; provided that the payment of such laundry allowance shall not be made to any employee on absences exceeding one week. (4) where the employer requires any employee to wear headwear, the hospital shall provide headwear free of charge to the employee. (5) In lieu of supplying footwear to an employee the employer shall pay the said employee the relevant sum set out in Table 2 per week. (ii) The allowances referred to subclause (i) are also payable during any period of paid leave, notwithstanding the exception provided at (i)(3) above. (iii) The above allowances are not payable in the circumstances where the Employer does not require employees to wear a uniform or where the employee is only required to wear scrubs and such items are supplied and laundered by the Employer. Where the employee is required to wear scrubs and shoes, subclause (i)(5) shall apply.

(c) Where the employer requires any employee to wear headwear, the hospital shall provide headwear free of charge to the employee. (d) The allowances referred to subclause 26.3 are also payable during any period of paid leave.
